Director of Pricing Strategy at Parametric Technology (PTC) in Boston, MA

Job Description

We are looking to grow our Pricing team with a collaborative, experienced Director of Pricing to work closely with our Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing and Design teams to define and help build out the next generation of our pricing strategy and customer experience.

The Director of Pricing is a member of a team that develops, implements, and refines the global pricing and packaging strategy for PTC’s solutions. The Director will immerse themselves in data to ensure that customer needs, financial objectives, and product requirements are aligned to PTC’s pricing approach. The role will partner extensively with cross-functional teams, including Product and Sales leaders, to gain alignment and enable execution. Using a data-driven approach, the Director influences and leads strategic pricing initiatives and monetization strategy.

Day-To-Day Activities:

• Lead Pricing & Packaging initiatives across all PTC solutions, with an emphasis of SaaS business models
• Collaborate with leaders in sales, marketing, and product organizations to craft new, simple SaaS business models, define monetization strategies for new offerings, and optimize packaging & pricing for existing products
• Incorporate an understanding of customer value to develop value-based pricing strategies
• Apply understanding of SaaS competitive landscape and best-in-class SaaS pricing principles, along with product telemetry and data analytics, to make SaaS pricing and packaging decisions
• Develop insights and recommendations through customer segmentation, price discovery, testing & experimentation, and ROI analyses
• Monitor key metrics and market intelligence to derive insights and identify opportunities to evolve pricing
• Ensure pricing and packaging recommendations account for the trade-offs between revenue optimization and a customer’s perception of value for price

Required Skills and Knowledge:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or an equivalent; MBA preferred
• Minimum 10 years professional experience in strategy consulting, go-to-market, pricing strategy, product management, and/or corporate strategy
• At least 3-5 years of SaaS pricing experience and/or SaaS monetization experience with demonstrated success at a B2B enterprise SaaS or software company
• Demonstrated leadership experience driving complex initiatives by leading cross-functional and often remote teams
• Ability to solve complex problems and communicate output data and concepts simply and concisely for an executive audience
• Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Effective communication skills: Regularly achieve consensus with peers, and guide decisions with senior leadership
