The Pricing Director is responsible for executing the overall competitive pricing policies and strategies for the Home Services business.

This position is critical in the development of an overall pricing methodology and the use of competitive benchmarking to drive improved results. Additionally, this position works closely with internal business partners, as well as external Vendors to assist in the collection of key data.


• Oversees and executes competitive price checking processes, and ensures current policies and procedures align with Corporate pricing strategy

• Creates insight, benchmarking and reporting from competitive data, including various statistical analysis around how to drive increased penetration and profit balance, as well as end user take rates on paid calls

• Works with the Vice President to set strategy and policy around who is Sears Holdings Corporation's (SHC) pricing competitor's for each line of business

• Establishes the methodology and plan for on-going set of pricing tests, including the scale, depth and frequency of competitive shopping

• Operationalizes pricing processes with key merchants and business partners for their categories

• Leads and establishes benchmarking practices for Home Services, with key insights into competitors

• Identifies specific margin opportunities and works with the Buying group to execute (i.e., evaluates price sensitivity and potential price changes, development of margin enhancements programs for targeted businesses)

• Drives the process to review impact and effectiveness of pricing implementation with other groups to ensure consistent execution of pricing policy and to identify gross margin opportunities

• Anticipates and understands short and long-term competitive market trends, and uses this information to develop and implement pricing strategy for optimal gross margin

• Conceptualizes how new functionality fits both the retailer's business environment and the optimization tool, and translates concepts into action plan for introducing new functionality

• Performs supervisory responsibilities, including, but not limited to: making employment decisions regarding hiring, promoting, demoting, and terminating; conducting performance appraisals; and coaching and developing associates

• Expert knowledge in Pricing Best Practices and Strategy

• Ability to be a results oriented businessperson with successful career track in retail and services strategy or pricing optimization

and analytics

• Ability to form strong relationships, and understand client experience and expectations to anticipate needs

• Change management skills

• Ability to lead projects and initiatives involving cross-functional teams

• Excellent communication skills

• Extensive project planning and management skills

• Ability to drive change, with the ability to take an organization through transition


• Bachelors Degree

• 5-10 years of related experience

• 18years of age or older


• Master's degree.
