Qualifications:
  • Valid Georgia Certificate; L-5, 6 or higher, or be eligible for proper leadership certification as set forth by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.
  • Five years of successful teaching experiences
  • Three full years of successful school administrative experience. Principal experience preferred.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.


Reports To: Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction

Supervises: Social Emotional Coordinator

Terms of Employment: To be determined by the Board of Education

Salary: See Salary Scale: Director Level 1

Primary Job Goal: To oversee MTSS, direct and lead the district, supervise the Social Emotional program, develop and implement student services programs such as Truancy Protocol, and establish budgets for Professional Development and Guidance Services.

Performance Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and implement a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) across the district.
  • Lead the district in developing and maintaining prevention and intervention strategies.
  • Supervise the Social Emotional Learning (SEL) program and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
  • Collaborate with district leaders, educators, and staff to ensure effective implementation of programs.
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of prevention and intervention programs and adjust as needed.
  • Provide training and professional development for staff on Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), Social Emotional Learning (SEL), and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to prevention and intervention programs.
  • Develop and manage budgets related to prevention and intervention programs.
  • Develop and implement PBIS.
  • Establish budgets for Professional Development in MTSS and Guidance Services.
  • Meet with district administration to produce district-level support and products for successful PBIS implementation within the schools.
  • Direct and evaluate the District Mental Health Coordinator and the Wrap-Around Services Program.
Other Functions:
Daily attendance and punctuality are required to ensure the work unit's goals are met.

Working Environment:
Working Environment: The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: Lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling. Generally, the job requires 60% sitting, 40% walking, 10% lifting/carrying, and 40% standing.
