We currently have a rewarding opportunity for a Director of Plant Engineering to join our leadership team and become part of the energy at MSMC where you will engage immediately in the success of our world-class facility. This key role will oversee a staff of about 60 employees. In addition to our 52 acre main campus on Miami Beach we have 10 satellite campuses located throughout the Miami area with a total of more than 1.5 million square feet of property.

Responsibilities

- Under the direction of the Vice President, coordinates the daily operation of the Plant Engineering team to ensure all locations and needs are covered on a 24-hour basis

- Directs, administers and coordinates the Plant Engineering programs to maintain the Medical Center locations in a attractive, orderly and safe condition

- Establishes and maintains work procedures and schedules for the Plant Engineering team

- Reviews departmental programs and makes recommendations to improve quality, impact and cost

- Ensures all department services are properly staffed

- Implements financial policies, cost controls and budget reviews for the Plant Engineering team

- Establishes job training programs and makes sure training is available and completed for all existing and new processes and equipment

- Provides for an effective and continuous quality improvement program

- Ensures that the Plant Engineering team follows and reflects the Operation Excellence standards for customer service

- Develops and implements programs and systems to ensure the availability and maintenance of records that comply with federal state, and local regulations

- Maintains the utilities system management program

- Contributes to Environmental of Care and Emergency Management compliance

- Ensures regulatory compliance for Life Safety including Joint Commission, AHCA and NFPA standards

Requirements:

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent degree. Master's degree preferred

- 7 to 10 years experience preferred in Plant Engineering Management in a major hospital/healthcare system, universities or military

- The ideal individual must demonstrate strong analytical, critical thinking and interpersonal skills

- The candidate must be able to demonstrate strong project management skills with the ability to simultaneously manage a variety of high impact projects
