Job Title: Director of Plans, Training and Operations
Job Summary: This role provides organizational level direction and manages the development, implementation, and quality assurance of training and organizational operating processes and procedures in support of EMCOR Field Organization (EFO), which consists of over 450 Commercial Maintenance Technicians (CMT) across the United States. The Director ensures all components of EFO training meet appropriate standards, improve mission accomplishment, and contribute to organizational excellence. The role maintains organizational communication and collaboration systems to support performance based analysis, proactive decision-making, and consistent mission accomplishment, and leads EFO planning and coordination for new account roll-outs, licensing, standard operating procedures, and critical organizational initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
TRAINING: Manage the planning, coordination, execution, and continuous assessment of all EFO training. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
o In coordination with EMCOR SQM team and EFS Safety, ensure EFO’s safety training program is compliant, effective, and efficient
o Manage and administer EFO’s Commercial Maintenance Technician professional education and certification program
o In coordination with the HR Manager, EFS Safety and EFS IT identify develop and deploy continuous improvements to new-hire orientation and training initiatives
o Lead monthly New Hire Orientation Sessions
o Support Regional Directors and Regional Managers in planning, conducting, and assessing new-hire on-board training
o Identify safety, technical, procedural, or other miscellaneous training needs and lead the development and implementation of cost-effective training solutions
o Supervise EFO’s training development specialist
PLANS & OPERATIONS:
o Lead EFO crisis planning and response efforts in support of employees and customers
o Develop and implement standard operating procedures, as required
o Support Business Development team in evaluating and preparing proposals for new EFO-supported business opportunities
o Develop operational instructions and training materials in support of customer account program changes; and, in conjunction with EFO leadership implement these operational program changes
o Responsible for EFO training and operations document control and management
o Serve as lead for the EMCOR Field Organization during all new EFO-supported account rollouts
o In coordination with EFS Trades Group, manage organizations professional licensing program to ensure compliance and maximize business opportunities
o Supports EFO leadership in planning, decision-making, and continuous improvement initiatives
o Provides feedback to Regional Directors, Regional Managers, and Technicians for development and coaching
o Establishes and refines annual goals and objectives that are nested with EFO priorities and objectives
o Evaluates individual and collective performance monthly, quarterly, and annually in accordance with established Key Performance Indicators
o Solicits and applies customer feedback (internal and external)
o Fosters a safety culture, a focus on quality, and a continuous improvement environment
Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) from four-year college or university; Graduate Degree is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of organizational planning and leadership experience with strong project management, training management, problem solving, and communication skills.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing, to diverse groups across all organizational levels. Present information, analysis, and recommendations in an organized and concise manner that allows easy understanding and decision making. Easily gain trust and confidence of employees, peers, supervisors, and customers.
Project and training management experience within construction or maintenance industry is preferred. High level of proficiency with MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint. Knowledgeable with Business System or Document Management Software.
