DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Monitors processes within all Prime Healthcare Admitting Departments as directed/needed in the areas of preadmission, admissions, cashier, hospital mail, PBX, reception and Insurance Verification to ensure timely processing and patient flow.
2.Works closely with other Prime Healthcare leadership to ensure that all admission/registration forms or patient education is kept current and that updates are managed throughout all Admitting Departments.
3.Conducts monthly Prime Healthcare Admitting, Business Office & HIM meetings.
4.Collaborates with the Admitting Departments and Corporate PFS Director to implement, manage and monitor Corporate goals relevant to Admitting processes.
5.Assists Prime Admitting Departments Management with day-to-day operations as requested/directed.
6.Follows up to ensure that the Admitting departments are meeting assigned objectives and deadlines and to assist them if necessary.
7.Keeps the Corporate PFS Director/VP of PFS informed about issues.
8.Facilitates the resolution for problems and conflicts.
9.Participates as directed in the interviewing and hiring of Admitting Supervisors, Managers and Directors.
10.Facilitates the training of new Admitting Managers, Supervisors and Managers and provides a written orientation outline to each new Prime Admitting Leadership, and documents completion.
11.Conducts local level Admitting department in-services to ensure optimum department performance and skill level of employees as needed.
12.Utilizes problem solving approach in department needs following the appropriate chain of command.
13.Participates in Prime Healthcare Corporate or local facility level: committees, meetings, ad hoc groups, or teams as instructed or directed.
14.Participates on Department or hospital committees as requested.
15.Ensures that Prime Healthcare Admitting Leadership has Standardized Prime Admitting Policies available to them and that in the areas where Prime Healthcare has identified a process to be standard, that these policies are adhered to. Develops, implements and maintains current policies, procedures and forms as needed. Reviews Standard Prime Healthcare Admitting Department policies and procedures and updates as needed to ensure compliance with JCAHO, CMS and all other applicable regulations and standards.
16.Will perform Admitting Department Assessments as requested or otherwise directed to ensure that department policies and Corporate directives are being adhered to. To audit local Admitting Management ensuring strong leadership is maintained and highly efficient department is maintained. Will assist with action plans, work plans or other means to enhance the development of the Admitting leadership as needed.
17.Monitors all Admitting statistics for Prime Healthcare facilities; reports issues or concerns to the Corporate PFS Director as needed to input/direction.
18.Develops a program to analyze and identify trends in quality problems; plans corrective action plan, additional training or other measures to improve quality.
19.Documents and completes annual reviews with all employees regarding job performance within deadlines.
20.Assists Corporate PFS Director as instructed with projects, tasks or functions as instructed.
21.Must possess the ability to prioritize, and re-prioritize at any given moment, and manage deadlines as given.
22.Completes other assigned tasks.
