Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises 8-10 supervisory and management personnel and indirectly manages 150+ technical, hourly and administrative personnel

Essential Responsibilities include (other duties may be assigned):

  1. Develop, in conjunction with GM, Controller and appropriate management staff, annual operating and capital budgets for operating departments
  2. Recommend specific capital projects to GM to increase operating efficiency of plant. Develop implementation plans as necessary for significant capital expenditures.
  3. Review and approve adequate plans for the control of production, budget spending, labor efficiency, material efficiency, customer service, and labor utilization
  4. Report current company results to GM on a timely basis
  5. Review performance against operating plans and sales forecasts
  6. Communicate operating results to appropriate staff; make adjustments to operating plans, employee count and deployment to achieve results
  7. Define and communicate specific goals and objectives for each distinct area of operation and monitor progress
  8. Select and develop qualified personnel, recommend compensation changes and prepare annual performance evaluations for direct reports and their respective departments
  9. Ensure that all local, state and federal environmental and safety regulations are being met and operations are in compliance
  10. Participate in sales presentations, trade shows and customer visits
  11. Personally observe safety and security procedures and proper use of equipment and material. Actively promote safety process and report any safety issues to proper channels for action.

Knowledge, Skills & Ability Requirements

  • Understanding of aerospace and metal processing industry
  • Working knowledge of quality systems, process control, statistical analysis, inspection methods, blueprint reading, plating, welding, machining, grinding and thermal spray technology
  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing and processing safety practices
  • Strong analytical skills and practical problem solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and ability to work well with others
  • Good working knowledge of personal computers and standard office software with ability to develop and maintain spreadsheets
  • Ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment

Education and Work Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Management, Business Administration, Finance or Engineering or equivalent directly related experience; advanced degreepreferred
  • 10+ years of manufacturing or processing management
  • 5+ years of experience as a top level leader in a manufacturing company with annual production value of sales of $10+ million and a minimum of 100 direct labor employees

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

  • Normal office environment
  • Regularly required to move about the facility
  • Occasional travelrequired
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including eye and hearing protection and safety shoes
