Lead the overall management of warehouse operations and the distribution of products within a 3 state region. Manage 10 management and 400+ employees and 150 company vehicles.
Direct the overall warehouse and distribution team to ensure orders are received, scheduled and shipped to meet the customer requirements.
Responsible for expense control, shrink, labor, overhead costs and drive reduction in the overall cost of distribution and warehouse with minimal customer impact.
Design and improve the warehouse and the distribution network in Training, Quality, Safety, Damage Control of Inventory, Improvement of Inventory turns, professionalism, presentation of vehicles and drivers and deploy a continuous improvement program through benchmarking and metrics.
Improve the operating model which can be better flexed for seasonal demand, establish staffing and resource models based on volume and product mix for distribution center.
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, maintaining proper departmental staffing levels, employee performance evaluations, discipline, morale, hiring, coaching, developing, planning, assigning and directing work assignments, addressing complaints and resolving issues.
BS/BA or equivalent.
7+ years’ food distribution experience with multi-site responsibility.
Thorough knowledge of warehouse management systems.
Experience implementing continuous improvement techniques.
Microsoft NAV experience a plus.
Experience with union negotiations.
Able to travel 25%.
