Major Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and manage the implementation of strategic plans including Lean Systems, Six Sigma, Just in Time and operational development and product manufacturing to "Manufacturing Excellence" status 
  • Maximize synergies within manufacturing operations to reduce cost, eliminate redundancies and improve processes and product flow. 
  • Systematic and ongoing analysis review of operations structure and effectiveness. Determine opportunities for improvement and efficiency.
  • Delegate appropriate authority and responsibilities to managers on staff to coordinate and expedite activities in the areas of manufacturing, engineering, scheduling, production, materials, maintenance, employee relations and various other functions.
  • Focus on objectives and goal alignment; reinforce plant objectives by using the organization's performance management process to establish clear individual performance goals
  • Clearly communicate the vision and obtain commitment to goals and action plans..
  • Develop and direct short and long-range manufacturing strategies to meet and exceed current and future business plans.
  • Prepare achievable budgets to align with business objectives.
  • Lead in identifying and eliminating issues and barriers to achieve operational excellence.
  • Energize the operation's organization and lead required change.
  • Oversee labor, capital, work-in-process and inventory to assure profitability.
  • Use continuous improvement initiatives and techniques throughout the plant, resulting in operational efficiencies, inventory reductions and increased turns, quality improvements and economies of scale.
  • Prepare and present monthly operational reports on plant performance to senior management
  • Conduct continuous reviews of the organizational development process that primarily addresses succession


Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 10+ yearsexperience as the leader in a manufacturing facility with 1000+ employees
  • Technical knowledge in areas such as manufacturing, industrial engineering, production and inventory planning and quality control. Administrative knowledge and experience in costing, budgeting, forecasting, capital projects, wage and salary administration, occupational health and safety regulations.
  • A strong leader with influence to manage people in a positive and productive manner.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to improve cost, quality, delivery and safety.
  • Proven ability to recruit, train and develop high potential talent.
  • A track record of success and a passion for business.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
