Fluidtech with locations in Lenexa, KS and Omaha, NE, serves OEM customers in Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, and Missouri. Fluidtech distributes hydraulic and electronic products from top suppliers including Hydraforce, Eaton/Vickers, and Auburn Gear, and has a team of skilled application specialists committed to advancing OEMs with Fluid Power and controls applications. Mach V is the company’s manifold manufacturing and assembly division.

Fluidtech seeks a Director of Operations to support Mach V. As Director of Operations, you will be responsible for the successful execution of all fabrication projects, insures customer support from the back office, and maintains vendor relationships that are cultivated through purchasing. You will lead and manage a team personnel and is accountable for the performance as measured against factory cost goals while maintaining On-Time Delivery. Departments you will lead include production, purchasing, inside sales/back-office.

In addition, the Director of Operations will be responsible for:

  • Daily operations and all continuous improvement (LEAN) activities within a department.
  • Growing the scope of responsibility as part of the continuous improvement process. As problems are identified and prioritized, the Operations Manager should draw in support from other departments which may include production, maintenance, purchasing, accounting, HR, finance, IT, etc.
  • Plans, procures, administers material resources, to insure timely and profitable completion.


  • A Bachelor of Science in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or 8+ years of direct experience in a related field
  • At least 5 years with Lean Implementation and/or Industrial / Process Engineering Degree.
  • Experience with Value Stream Mapping, Value Stream Design, A3 Process (PDCA) preferred.


  • Prior experience leading a group of manufacturing employees, including hiring and coaching
  • Ability to affectively lead and motivate employees
  • Experience with MRP systems and ISO compliant quality systems
  • Strong technical background and aptitude
  • Strong understanding of Lean manufacturing concepts.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to vendors.
  • Proficient in the use of computers, specifically in MS Office. AutoCAD and Solid Works knowledge is a plus.
