The Director is responsible for leading and directing all strategic, operational and administrative responsibility for the Wellstar Occupational Medicine Program and department. This program will provide comprehensive, hospital and health-park based programs to provide medical and ancillary services to employers within the WellStar service area. Through partnership with the Medical Director, WellStar Medical Group and hospital leader, this individual will manage the day to day operation of the Occupational Medicine Program to address market employers injuries and screenings.
The Director will propose, develop, cost out and implement various new products to meet the needs of the corporate community in the occupational medicine arena. He/she will work in close cooperation with a variety of internal facility departments, client companies and contracted health care vendors, e.g., Physical Therapy, Laboratory, Emergency Department, Radiology Imaging Services, ect.), to propose, develop, and implement specific Occupational Medicine Service activities pertinent to these individual departments and services. The individual in this role will utilize industry knowledge to manage state and federal funding projects. He/she will establish productivity measures and oversees compliance of productivity measures for the achievement of established goals for the OccMed Program.
In addition to the operation accountability, this leader will develop and maintain a marketing strategy to establish the program with area businesses, participate in business community relations and sell existing and new products to the corporate community.
Required Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare, occupational medicine or other business relevant program from and accredited College/University.
Required Minimum Experience: Seven (7) years of of management experience of an Occupational Medicine Program. Demonstrated success in the creation and expansion of a program that serves the need of a large metropolitan area.
Required Minimum Skills: Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Must understand basic occupational Medicine metrics and process flow. Candidate must have strong leadership skills that can be applied to running an Occupational Medicine Program and to improving performance of individuals and clinics as a whole. Plus, it is preferred that the candidate be competent with EPIC and have participated in developing/building new work processes within the EMR system.
