Job Description

Full-time Salaried role

Are you an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) with a passion for enriching the lives of geriatric care residents? What you bring to the table:

  • Education: Graduation from an accreditedschool of nursing
BSN or equivalentcombination of education and experience required
(MSN preferred)
  • Nursing experience: 3+ years of floornursing
  • Management experience: 5+ years inlong-term care
Preferrable in a Director of Nursing (DON) or an Assisted Director of Nursing (ADON)
  • Licensure: RN license in good standing inIllinois
  • Strong experience developing andimplementing quality improvement programs
  • Ability to translate the goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department into actionable items
  • Knowledgeable in state reporting and theability to develop and implement plan of corrections
  • Strong communication skills and ability tocollaborate with team


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise all nursing staff
  • Overseeing department budgets
  • Maintaining high standards of care for allresidents
  • DON acts as a Liaison between doctors, patients, andfamily members about resident's plan of care
  • Director of Nursing collaborates on the recruitmentand trainingof new nursing staff
  • Ensure proper training for staff ondepartment policies
  • Nursing Director implements qualityimprovement programs to help us deliver the highest possible levels of care inour community
