The primary responsibility of the Director of Media Technology Construction is to oversee the on-site installation of Audio Visual & control systems and equipment for MGM Resorts International. The Director will ensure approved A/V designs, provided by MGM Resorts International Media Technology Design Engineers and consultants, are implemented throughout the construction process. Media Technology Construction is involved in all MGM Resorts capital construction and remodel projects that contain A/V elements.

The Director of Media Technology Construction works closely with the Director of Media Technology Design to ensure the A/V design needs are met during the construction process. The position also works closely with MGM Resorts Construction and Design teams as well as contracted Architects and Consultants.

  • Attend Construction Coordination and Descope meetings between MRI Design, Architects, and consultants.
  • Attend on-site Construction coordination meetings and walks.
  • Participate in Vendor RFP, bidding, and selection processes.
  • Review Design documents and budgets and meet with A/V Design Engineering team to understand design expectations.
  • Manage A/V Construction Engineering staff.
  • Oversee A/V installation activities on site and ensure A/V components are turned over on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate A/V vendor delivery, installation, and Quality Assurance on site.
  • Request Change Orders as necessary.
  • Ensure A/V systems are functional to meet Certificate of Occupancy Fire & Safety testing, and business turnover timelines.
  • Performs all other job related duties as requested.

Required:

  • At least 7 years of experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a construction engineering, related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Extensive Audio-Visual systems experience
  • Knowledge of Commercial Audio Systems i.e. Dante, CobraNet
  • Knowledge of Live Performance Production A/V systems
  • Knowledge of Lighting Control Systems (ETC, Ketra, and others)
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Able to lead and mentor a team.
  • Have interpersonal skill to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.

Preferred:

  • Industry recognized certification such as Avixa CTS
  • Vendor specific product training (Crestron, AMX, etc.)
  • Lighting Control experience.
  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
