The Director of Leisure Sales will be responsible for overseeing all sales related activities in the Leisure segment (Wholesale, Business Travel, Consortia and Group). Focus on building long term relationships with travel industry partners in their assigned market sources to maximize the hotel's revenue potential.


  • Maintain market awareness in the Leisure market segment to develop strategies to predict and maximize revenue opportunities
  • Meet or exceed goals for the Leisure segment in their assigned market sources
  • Prospect, qualify, and develop new Leisure accounts in accordance with the objectives and goals stated in the Hotel Business Plan as well as further developing relationships with existing partners
  • Draft of annual wholesale agreement including any revisions stemming from discussions with the Director of Sales & Marketing and Director of Revenue Management
  • Assist the Director of Sales & Marketing in preparing reports in a timely manner
  • Utilize OPERA and Delphi.fdc to ensure accuracy and detailed data history is maintained
  • Develop networking opportunities through active participation in various community and professional associations and industry events
  • Assist in the preparing of the annual Hotel Business Plan
  • Participate in various sales calls, tradeshows, roadshows, throughout the year both domestically as well as internationally in assigned market sources to educate travel agencies and generate awareness and interest
  • Lead negotiations with travel partners in assigned market sources to achieve maximum revenue potential for the hotel while satisfying clients' needs
  • Conduct site inspections with clients as well as coordinating FAM tours with various visitor bureaus and airlines partners
  • Assist as necessary in various public relations and marketing efforts as directed by the Director of Sales & Marketing
  • As a member of the management team, provide instruction and guidance for all guests during emergencies
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by hotel management
  • Prospect new business contacts by contracting 40 new potential business providers per month
  • Follow up with all clients weekly/monthly/quarterly as follows:

"A" accounts weekly

"B" accounts bi monthly

"C" accounts monthly

  • Assist the Director of Sales & Marketing in various sales projects as required


  • Minimum 21 years of age with proof of authorization
  • BA or BS preferred but not required
  • Minimum four years hotel sales or travel industry sales experience preferably in the Leisure market segment
  • Must be articulate in spoken & written English
  • Must possess excellent communication, follow up, and organizational skills
  • Must be able to work flexible and varied schedules including weekends, overnight, and holidays
  • Sets high personal performance standards
  • Must be proactive and have a creative, positive, and focused vision
  • Maintaining confidentiality and sensitive information is a must
  • Must be able to make frequent travels, without any restrictions in the travel schedule
  • Must understand the Tour & Travel group markets in assigned area of responsibility
