Job Description:

The Director of Infection Prevention and Control is responsible for the establishment, implementation and maintenance of a system which helps prevent nosocomial infections at Marshfield Clinic Health System (MCHS). This position establishes and maintains an appropriate surveillance system, provides guidance and consultation to other departments regarding hospital associated infection, ambulatory care associated infections and ensures policies and procedures related to infection control are reflective of current standards and follow-up on actual and potential infection control risks and events.

Job Qualifications:

Education (Education qualifications must be from a school whose accreditation is recognized by Marshfield Clinic Health System.)

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in nursing, microbiology, epidemiology or related field.

Experience

Minimum Experience Required: Five years' experience in infection prevention or related field. Five years management experience. Demonstrated proficiency with written, verbal or non-verbal communication skills.

Preferred/Optional Experience: Experience a management or director position within infection control.

Certifications/Licenses

The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position, which must be maintained in good standing:

Minimum Required: Infection Control certification (CIC) awarded by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology. Registered Nurse license awarded by state of Wisconsin based on degree held.
