The human resource director is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource function for major Manufacturing company.

Essential Functions

  1. Annually reviews and makes recommendations to executive management for improvement of the organization's policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters.
  2. Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures organization's compliance.
  3. Maintains responsibility for organization compliance with federal, state and local legislation pertaining to all personnel matters.
  4. Communicates changes in the organization's personnel policies and procedures and ensures that proper compliance is followed.
  5. Assists executive management in the annual review, preparation and administration of the organization's wage and salary program.
  6. Coordinates or conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
  7. Consults with legal counsel as appropriate, or as directed by the CEO, on personnel matters.
  8. Works directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters.
  9. Recommends, evaluates and participates in staff development for the organization.
  10. Develops and maintains a human resource information system that meets the organization's personnel information needs.
  11. Supervises the staff of the human resource department.
  12. Participates on committees and special projects and seeks additional responsibilities.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position manages all employees of the HR department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position.


Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.

Required Education and Experience

  1. Bachelor's degree and 15+ years' related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. Master's degreepreferred, Bachelors required,
  2. SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential is preferred

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  1. Maintain SHRM-SCP certification or have the ability to obtain certification within 12 months of hire.
