As part of AstraZeneca’s Commercial Operations team, the Director of Health Information Technology (HIT) will take lead in developing successful, long-term projects and strategies related to AstraZeneca’s engagement with Health Information Technology suppliers and partners, including EHRs, medical apps and devices, and other physician and consumer outlets. This role requires deep knowledge of the highly-complex, regulated, and continuously-changing HIT landscape, as well as the ways pharmaceutical manufacturers rely on these technologies to ensure product and therapeutic area information is delivered to health care providers, payers, and consumers accurately and efficiently.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The Director of Healthcare Information Technology will support brand and enterprise initiatives that remove barriers and capitalize on opportunities that exist in the development of HIT-focused collaborative relationships between AstraZeneca and key industry stakeholders.

You will take the lead in developing successful, long-term projects and strategies related to AstraZeneca’s engagement with Health Information Technology suppliers and partners, including EHRs, medical apps and devices, and other physician and consumer outlets. This role requires deep knowledge of the highly-complex, regulated, and continuously-changing HIT landscape, as well as the ways pharmaceutical manufacturers rely on these technologies to ensure product and therapeutic area information is delivered to health care providers, payers, and consumers accurately and efficiently. Desirable Requirements

  • MBA or equivalent experience (e.g., management consulting, 5+ years management role, entrepreneur or combination of these skills and experiences)
  • Ability to travelinternationally up to 20% of time

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field (e.g. Business, Marketing, Communications, Science, Healthcare)
  • Experience designing, implementing, and managing successful commercial programs and campaigns, including definition of business cases, securing and managing program budgets, supplier vetting and management, KPI development and measurement, and internal and external communication
  • Strong understanding of the current Health IT landscape, services, and regulations
  • Ability to navigate complex pharmaceutical manufacturer Medical, Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance requirements
  • Pharmaceutical or Health IT experience in oncology, respiratory, or cardiometabolic disease states is preferred
