Northeast Business Group on Health (NEBGH) is a nonprofit membership coalition that leverages the influence and buying power of employers and other large healthcare purchasers to reduce healthcare costs, improve quality and enhance employee population health. NEBGH is seeking candidates for the newly-created role of Director of Grants Management to create a grants funding strategy, actively seek new funding opportunities, manage projects and help lead the organization's policy initiatives.
The Director of Grants Management will be responsible for:
Crafting a multi-year grants funding and programming strategy;
Researching funding opportunities;
Conceptualizing, developing and submitting proposals for funding;
Managing delivery of funded projects and initiatives (may include pilots);
Building collaborative relationships with funding organizations;
Helping develop and lead policy initiatives, including participating on advisory boards;
Representing NEBGH as a speaker on panels and other public forums.
This is a senior role in a small organization, with the opportunity to create strategy, achieve operational excellence, expand the organization?s funding sources and ? if successful ? build a team. The experienced professional who holds this position will be empowered to contribute valuable healthcare expertise, funding connections and perspectives to NEBGH, and obtain knowledge from and exposure to benefits managers at national and global employers, as well as executives at healthcare delivery systems, health plans and other stakeholders.
Areas of focus include:
? Consumer transparency when it comes to healthcare quality, safety and cost;
? Benefit design that can incentivize prevention, steerage to high-value providers and wellbeing;
? Value-driven approaches in areas like cancer, diabetes, behavioral health and maternal health that can significantly improve health outcomes;
? Innovations and new payment and delivery models that can help fix a broken healthcare system;
? Building consensus among purchasers and other stakeholders, and advocating for policies aimed at improving healthcare quality, affordability and the patient experience.
Location in downtown Manhattan
Compensation commensurate with experience
? Demonstrated success in grant funding environment(s), including expertise in overall funding strategies, grant submission and program delivery, and knowledge/relationships with funding institutions;
? At least eight years of experience in healthcare-related environments including nonprofit and community organizations, healthcare delivery systems, healthcare consulting and/or health policy environments;
? Expertise in healthcare, including terms and trends, methods of delivery and payment, and the roles employers/purchasers play in the U.S. healthcare system;
? Understanding and familiarity with the role organizations such as NQF, CPR, Joint Commission, Leapfrog Group and others play in the transforming landscape;
? Superior strategic planning and project management abilities;
? Excellent research, analysis, information synthesis skills;
? Experience in dealing with senior executives and success in engaging multi-stakeholders and clients;
? Excellence in written and oral communication, including aptitude for public speaking;
? Management experiencepreferred;
? MPH degree or MPP degree with healthcare specialization preferred.
