The Director of Formulary Management & Value will lead system-wide clinical initiatives toward standardization of medication therapy management based on evidence-based practice, service excellence, patient safety, and optimal patient care outcomes. This position is responsible for developing and implementing policies and strategies related to the utilization of drugs across the health-system. This position will be responsible for the development and maintenance of a system-wide shared drug formulary that optimizes quality while ensuring pharmacovigilance in the face of cost effective drug utilization. This position will promote the sharing of information among hospitals on experiences and strategies related to drug management while training and educating staff to understand the clinical and financial framework from which all drug policy decisions are made.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Licensed pharmacist or eligible for licensure in the State of Maine
An advanced degree ( PharmD, Ph.D., MBA, MHA, MPH or MS) is preferred.
Experience leading evidence based decisions about drug use, controlling pharmaceutical expenses while maximizing patient benefit.
Expertise in statistical analysis with extensive experience in Drug Information and medical and scientific literature analysis.
Desirable qualifications: Experience in healthcare or drug policy analysis. Prior management experience. 5+ years practice in a large hospital or health-system setting. Completion of an ASHP accredited residency in pharmacy practice and/or pharmacy administration. Fellowship or residency training in Pharmacoeconomics
Experience in consensus building across a health system with multiple entities.
