Job Summary

The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis will be responsible for: 1) analyzing historical performance and trends, 2) partnering with key business personnel to create financial projections, and 3) communicating historical & projected financial results, and identified risks and opportunities. He/she will also be enabling Executive Management decision making by being directly involved in budgeting, strategic planning, and performing ad hoc commercial support analyses (i.e. pro forma business opportunity financials, return on capital analytics).

As a key member of the Corporate Finance team, this individual will provide the information, insight, and guidance required to effectively operate the businesses, while identifying and addressing the financial impact of business decisions and strategic initiatives.


Regularly analyze historical performance for: Wholesale, and Corporate, business divisions/segments.

Set up procedures to monitor and review monthly business results with business and functional account owners, including understanding trends and variance analysis to LY and budgeted results

Create insightful and proactive analysis of sales, margin and expense savings opportunities and risks/contingencies through insightful reporting and analysis

Monitor achievement of strategic & financial fiscal year goals and objectives Communicate findings to stakeholders and executive management

Create and execute a regular forecast process by working with functional and business unit owners to estimate financial results based on future action plans and business assumptions. Understand and highlight key performance indicators and drivers of change within the financial results. Present findings to leadership, and maintain corporate deliverables and deadlines.

Design and develop annual and seasonal sales, margin, inventory and high-level expense plans for the Wholesale Business ? including Full Price - Majors, Off Price, and Specialty Store segments. Partner with business owner and cross-functional business leads to ensure alignment of plans with supporting departments.

Design and develop annual / seasonal / monthly expense plans for key corporate functions (i.e. IT, Production, Marketing, Design, Warehouse/Distribution, Human Resources). Document key assumptions and Partner with business owner and cross-functional business leads to ensure alignment of plans with supporting departments.

Communicate findings to stakeholders and executive management

Support global / total company FP&A activities including preparation of total company reports, strategic plans, budgets, cash flow forecasts, and capital forecasts.

Support the global corporate consolidation of all US (Wholesale, Retail, eCommerce), China Retail, and China Factory historical and projected financial results into total Company report(s) for executive management review.

Actively participate in annual strategic planning and budgeting activities; Support annual budget / strategic initiatives with financial analytics

Work with accounting teams to develop business segment reporting, and executive management dashboard reports

Support the development and execution of total company cash flow and capital expenditure forecasts

Analyze existing departmental and business segment reporting; Standardize and evolve as needed/necessary to meet business needs

Supportad-hoc business analysis including but not limited to: new account and new store pro forma financials; capital investment and return on investment analyses; and purchasing and contractual negotiation support


Bachelor?s Degree; MBA Preferred

7+ years of professional experience in financialreporting and analysis, forecasting, budgeting and planning (retail/apparel industry experiencepreferred)

Exceptional communication skills (ability to prepare presentations and articulately deliver to managers, as well as, senior management)

Professional maturity and presentation (significant interaction with senior management and external customers)

Must be able to interact across departmental divisions and integrate/collaborate with them to effectively operate the businesses

Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of urgency Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy

Change agent and out of the box thinker

Ability to work effectively and adapt to ambiguous situations

Excellent financial analysis skills (particularly financial modelling skills)

Enjoy working on a team while possessing a strong independent work ethic

Excellent computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office applications-Excel, PowerPoint); experience with Financial Reporting Systems desirable

Flexible with an entrepreneurial drive

Travel may be required on Ad-Hoc Basis
