Summary

As the Director of Financial Control, this senior finance role has responsibility to deliver accurate and timely accounting services and robust financial controls for the Vegas-based finance function, leading the general ledger accounting function team and partnering with senior finance leaders across the business. This role is a key member of the Global Shared Services Leadership team whose vision is to provide superior service experiences to our customers and employees to support scalable business growth.

What you will do

People leadership

  • As a senior people leader you will drive a high performance culture where quality output matters. You will lead innovative projects to lead people engagement across the team, as well as continual team improvements
  • Performance management responsibilities for the team

General ledger

  • Responsible for the General Ledger close process including balance sheet reconciliations, the consolidation of the Americas business, in both IFRS and USGAAP
  • Ensuring robust internal controls are consistently applied
  • Technical accounting assessments (with Corporate support)
  • Analytical reviews
  • Compliance with accounting and finance policies / recommends & advises on policy improvements
  • Monthly metrics reviews
  • Oversight and ownership of the out-sourced accounting functions in Mexico, Argentina and Peru

Budgets and forecasting

  • Responsible for producing effective and reliable working capital and fixed asset budgeting and forecasting
  • Working capital management working closely with business partners including working capital functions (AP, AR, Inventory) and commercial business partners.

Finance systems

  • Ensuring appropriate user access and segregation of duties controls are in place for the General Ledger system, reconciliation system tool (Blackline), Shared Drives
  • Embracing technology to help drive efficiency and process improvements across the team

Business partnering

  • This role is a key connector of multiple senior stakeholders. Understanding of customer (internal and external) needs and adaptability is required to drive and deliver a superior service to the key stakeholders.
  • Advises stakeholders on accounting impacts of transactions / helps develop solutions to challenges
  • Flexibility to accommodate global time zones in order to support the global finance team objectives

Audits (External and Internal)

  • This role will be the onsite lead in supporting the external audit requirements
  • Providing assistance to any internal audits for the Americas

Statutory & Regulatory Reporting

  • Overseeing and accountability for the delivery of all Americas financial statements accurately and on time to meet local statutory or regulatory requirements. These include financial statements under USGAAP for the Americas Group, Puerto Rico, Argentina and Mexico.
  • Regulatory reporting as required

Treasury

  • Banking relationships to support the Vegas-based operations
  • Key approver for operational finance matters including invoices and banking
  • Optimises strategies to enhance cash management positions, partnering with Group Treasury
  • Foreign exchange and currency consideration assessments

What we're looking for

What we would like you to know:

  • Candidate will be an active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent, and most likely have completed their BA/BS in business, accounting, finance or related field with equivalent experience
  • Good understanding of accounting principles (USGAAP, and IFRS would be an advantage)
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end processes, process mindset
  • Excellent communicator who can present, write and influence all levels of staff and management
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Adaptable to changing priorities
  • Detailed orientated and can meet tight deadlines
  • Detailed understanding of the importance of robust control environment

What we would like you to have done:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience of a finance function, with experience of financial and accounting close
  • Leadership role, preferable in dynamic environment including leading/identifying change initiatives to deliver process improvements and efficiency
  • Involved in technical accounting position assessments
  • Auditexperience (either as an external auditor, or being involved in working withauditors)
  • People management – including building and developing teams
  • Worked in an ERP and Consolidation tool
