The Director of Finance is responsible for all BHF financialreporting, gift processing, and information service functions. This position is responsible for directing and managing all financial activities of the Baystate Health Foundation including the accounting, internal controls, financialreporting (internal and external), financial analysis, budgeting, tax preparation, and gift processing functions, and acknowledgements for all gift types. The director will formulate BHF policies, implement best practice data processes, and ensure accurate recording of all charitable gifts. The director will ensure that such activities conform to all applicable generally accepted accounting principles, BHF policies, and other regulatory requirements and are conducted in an environment that effectively safeguards the Foundation’s $120+ million assets.

This position reports to and works directly for the BHF Executive Director and has a (dotted line) reporting relationship with the VP of Finance, BH. The director interacts closely with BHF Board members including the BH President & CEO, CFO and entity and clinical leaders. The director serves on the CFO's BH Financial Leadership Team, participating in monthly system-wide meetings.

Technical expertise and responsiveness are required to insure thal all financialprocesses assist in meeting Foundation goals in a highly competent, effective manner.

What You Will Do:

Responsible for directing the accounting, budgeting, financial statement and tax return preparation functions for BHF. Responsibilities include the oversight and reporting of the BHF budget, endowments, and total Foundation assets. Responsible for the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements including preparation of financialreports for BHF Board and committee meetings, and separate reporting for capital campaigns as needed. Responsible for the management of daily financial activities and operations for Baystate Health Foundation. Develops policies and procedures based on best practices to ensure accountability and compliance of all BHF financial operations.Ensures budget and reconcilition processes are in place and implemented. Keeps current with all GAAP and regulatory requirements for all philanthropic related initiatives..

Responsible for all BHF information systems and integration in collaboration with outside vendors, consultants, and BH Information Technology team to ensure effective data entry and capture of financial and all donor information for BHF. Responsible for assessment and untilization of fundraising software and other tools in support of financial activities and reporting. Oversees and implements on line giving software - Blackbaud Network Community and ensures implementation of online giving and fundraising software in support of the goals of BHF and its donors. Responsible for implementation of web-based giving and online acknowledgements for donors, with oversight of the BHF website.

Manages Data team ensuring daily activities for posting, tracking, and acknowledging gifts are completed in a timely and efficient manner - in compliance with BHF policies, accounting principles, and charitable giving guidelines. Develops and engages all assigned team members to meet the current and future demands of the area.

Manages finance functions and activities for BHF including Temporarily Restricted Funds (TRF's), budget coordination and management, all financialreports, policies, licensing, Lawson activities and Raiser's Edge reconciliations. Manages TRF's include setting up new funds, signature approval and distributions. Responsible for working directly with entity and clinical leaders and department chairs in support of utilization of TRF's.

Responsible for developing and tracking revenue and expenditures related to all activities of BHF including fundraising events, direct mail, and stewardship programs with meaningful analysis of revenue, costs of fundraising, and returns on investment, with recommendations for future strategies based on outcomes and other relevant information. Attends select BHF events to oversee financial operations.

Responsible for development and oversight of BHF budgets, processes and requests. Establishes and implements processes for new endowments and grants, and manages existing funds and reports to donors and fund beneficiaries/grant recipients.

Manages relationships with Blackbaud and other database vendors and consultants. Ability to work with external consultants as needed to insure that all processes reflect industry best practices.

Responsible for processes to ensure partnership with HR and assurance of prompt and accurate responses and payments for recipients of BHF Caring for Colleagues Fund.

What You Will Need:

Minimally Required Education: Master's Degree

Minimally Required Experience: 8 to 10 years accounting and financialreporting
