The Director of Sales will serve on the Walmart Leadership Team, and will set an example of leadership and sense of urgency for the entire team. The Director will help attract, develop and retain highly skilled and aggressive sales and operations professionals.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Manage staff of Region Operations Managers in maximizing the sale and distribution of all company products in the assigned territory through the establishment and appropriate execution of local and national sales programs
  • Develop and ensure the execution of national and regional account strategies for all company products to achieve sales goals at Walmart to include distribution, programs, and market share objectives
  • Monitor Walmart and Competitive activity to develop the most cost-effective strategies in order to drive volume and profitability through increased penetration and promotion
  • Develop, manage and/or maximize partnerships with Bottlers and Customer to drive improved performance
  • Develop and use objective tools, information, and feedback to establish regional and area performance goals and results for the team
  • Conduct business performance reviews with Bottlers and Customer to track, monitor and adjust efforts to produce desired outcomes in all key business segments
  • Establish partnerships with our marketing department to ensure the development of required sales tools and programs
  • Ensure team executes on all designed programs
  • Collaborate with Walmart Leadership Team peers to develop and execute optimal sales strategies designed achieve and/or exceed the Companies and Walmart’s business targets
  • Manage relationships and business plans with all business unit personnel in assigned territory
  • Set, communicate, and manage performance expectations, monitor and appraise employee job results and performance to develop, counsel or provide corrective action. Provide information, educational opportunities, and experiential growth opportunities to develop staff
  • Build a diverse organization that reflects the marketplace; inspires team through effective leadership
  • Ensure the Sales Team understands and adheres to Company standards and operating procedure

Position Requirements:

  • Eight to ten years of progressive sales experience in a retail, broker and/or distributor sales environment
  • Walmart sales and/or operational experiencepreferred
  • Management experience of leading a cross-functional team in a matrix organization
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Business, Marketing or Finance
  • Demonstrated track record of sales management in exceeding customer expectations
  • Experience in leading sales staff to achieve and exceed sales goals
  • Understanding of the beverage industry and DSD
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to establish good relationships and credibility with customers; ability to collaborate at all levels
  • Excellent at managing time, priorities and expenses
  • Able to work independently while being a team player
  • Superior technical, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency using Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with forecasting, Nielsen/IRI, POS and Inventory reports
  • Flexibility to travel 50%
