Director of Environmental Services
Performs preventive maintenance on location and equipment. Completes repairs as needed or requested. Keeps various work and storage rooms, public areas and restrooms, garage/ shed, tools and supplies organized and clean. Keeps garbage removed from building. Paints, patches or repairs all interior surfaces. Assures all floor surfaces are clean and appropriately finished. Assures that residents’ rooms and bathrooms, public areas and work areas are clean. Paints and maintains all exterior building surfaces and window frames. Meets all federal and state regulations regarding housekeeping and assures all location housekeeping objectives in the Quality Assurance program are met. Maintains lawn and exterior plantings. Maintains furniture, lighting, flags, and signs. Keeps sidewalks and parking lots well-marked, free of debris, snow and ice. Ensures that soiled linen and clothing is prepared and laundered. Ensures that clean linens are folded and distributed. Ensures that personal clothing is labeled, cleaned, hung and returned to its rightful owner. Safeguards residents’ property. Keeps residents’ closet / drawer areas orderly; respects residents’ storage and laundering decisions. Completes appropriate forms and documentation. Ensures that folding table / area, linen trucks and personal delivery carts are cleaned and disinfected daily; ensures that washers and dryers are cleaned and disinfected at least daily, (more often if needed) (including control panels, and doors). Ensures that laundry room area floors are dusted and damp mopped daily. Performs preventive maintenance on location vehicles. Provides back-up transportation to deliver lab materials when Transportation Coordinator is unavailable. Drives location vehicle in a safe and courteous manner. Plans most efficient and effective route in advance. Ensures all seat belts are fastened prior to moving the vehicle. Follows all state and local safety rules. Refrains from smoking, eating and drinking while vehicle is in motion. Follows written emergency procedures. Keeps residents’ living areas pleasant and orderly. Documents all completed work and tests performed. Receives and shares information. Observes and reports residents’ conditions to appropriate staff. Is responsible for Risk Management, including safety and health, property / insurance, building security, emergency guidelines and federal regulations. Demonstrates/encourages opportunities for carrying out the mission. Formulates and works within annual budget. Acquires resources and means that promote a quality work environment. Assists and participates in the QA/CQI process ensuring quality performance, conformance with regulations, standards and laws, and customer satisfaction. Accepts accountability for activities under direct control; exercises sound judgment and decision-making; promotes cooperative working relationships within and between departments. Keeps abreast of and implements new programs or practices.
VoTech education in Plumbing, HVAC, Electrician or Carpentry is preferred. One to two years’ prior experience.
Ability to communicate and comprehend.
