Job Description

Founded and led by billion-dollar investment and operations company Founder and Executive Chairman, Peter Rex, ResProp (part of the Rex family of companies) is looking for a Director of Construction to help lead construction efforts company-wide. As the Director of Construction, you are a results-oriented servant leader with extensive multifamily experience. You will play a key role in the future growth of the company by taking on property due diligence activities, creating capital expenditure budgets, directing all phases of project management from bid to completion, and developing new business opportunities. You are a strong communicator with experience managing owner and client relationships. You have worked in the third party management world and your clients trust you to keep them informed on the status of projects and impacts to business plans.

In year one you will be:

Overseeing capital projects from bid to completion
Directing the scope of work, evaluating bids, and negotiating construction contracts
Ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget
Optimizing construction and re-development projects and processes
Interacting with owners and clients to address any construction-related issues
Mentoring, guiding and leading construction teammates
Assisting with due diligence by forecasting capital expenditure budgets and projects

The ideal candidate has:

A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, preferably in civil engineering, construction engineering, architecture, construction management or a related field
6-10 years of full cycle experience (initiation to closeout) on redevelopment, large development and multi-family projects
Experience leading multi-million dollar capital projects and building capital budgets dispersed across a wide geographic area
Knowledge of all aspects of design and construction
The ability to work productively with customers and vendors in all departments
Strong communication skills, both written and oral
A proven track record interfacing with owners in a third party capacity
