Dealerware is modern fleet management for the modern retailer. Our fully-connected, intelligent platform streamlines the difficult-to-master task of fleet management at retail automotive dealerships, whether they need to better manage loaner and courtesy vehicle operations, subscription programs or hybrids of each. Today's service loaners exist to improve the customer experience, but as these fleets grow in units and complexity, they too often create inefficiencies, increased costs, and frustrations for both dealership personnel as well as customers. By taking a mobile-first, connected approach, Dealerware saves upwards of 90% of traditional contract time, allowing service departments to delight customers by getting them on the road quickly and painlessly, while recovering hundreds of thousands of dollars a year for dealerships that they were spending on fuel, tolls, and lost operational efficiencies. The Director of Communications is responsible for leading Silvercar's brand and corporate communications strategy for all business units and acting as the company's voice on a range of topics including mobility, travel, automotive disruption, and shared transportation matters and initiatives.

As a diverse company of brands, the Director of Communications will have important responsibilities vis-a-vis stakeholders across core business units, local markets and Audi of America. While the core focus of the role is to support the company's external communications objectives, this person is also an integral part of the Internal Communications and Brand Marketing operations. To this end, the Director of Communications is also responsible for driving narratives that align with messaging to support national/company-wide initiatives (namely internal vision setting and regional market roll-outs).

This is a full-time role is based in Austin, TX, and reports to the Chief Marketing Officer.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide clear and thorough communications plan and cadence for major markets across the US, in support of Silvercar by Audi's rental services business, Dealerware, and Audi select
  • Develop written materials (story pitches, messaging guidelines, Q&As, briefs, presentations, speeches, etc.) and manage the approval process with Silvercar Inc. and Audi of America stakeholders
  • Drive creative campaigns that grow awareness and strong brand affinity
  • Identify opportunities for op-eds by Silvercar principals
  • Help prepare Silvercar spokespeople for public speaking engagements, media interviews, etc.
  • Develop and manage relationships with key reporters in market
  • Identify proactive press opportunities and drive national/global announcements, in support of policy, corporate and consumer communications goals
  • Manage social media team and drive integrated strategies
  • Support influencer relations program in tandem with the social media team
  • Support brand partnerships team to drive awareness and grow mindshare with new consumer audiences
  • Manage relationships and day-to-day work of PR agency
  • Work hand-in-hand with the HR team to develop and roll-out a comprehensive internal communications plans

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 10+ years PR/Public Affairs experience, either working in an agency or in-house; preference to those with mobility, disruptive technology, or automotive experience
  • Good knowledge of mobility matters - more specifically relating to automotive, technology, or the sharing economy
  • Proven-track record working on communications initiatives involving multiple business units
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multi-functional leads in a matrix organization
  • Excellent writing skills with samples to share
  • Experience working on projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong verbal communications and interpersonal skills
  • Maintaining enthusiasm and calm demeanor in stressful situations.
