The Director of Clinical Training / Assistant Clinical Professor holds a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track appointment and has teaching and administrative responsibilities associated with training intern and practicum students from all programs within the Department of Counseling and Family Therapy. The Director's primary responsibilities are to plan, coordinate, facilitate, administer, and monitor clinical training activities on behalf of the academic programs and in coordination with Program Directors, faculty, and clinical supervisors. The individual demonstrates competence in Couple and Family Therapy (CFT) and Counselor educational requirements, knowledge and experience in operating behavioral health care practice, program development, clinical supervision and teaching.


- Doctoral Degree required

- LMFT in Pennsylvania required

- Addictions treatment experience required / addictions treatment certification preferred

- AAMFT Approved Supervisor preferred

- Certified Addictions Counselor preferred

- Five years of experience providing and managing clinical services

Essential Functions


1. Develop, monitor, and refine the practicum and internship policies and procedures in collaboration with COFT Program Directors, the CNHP Office of Compliance, and clinical site supervisors. Update the handbook and applicable BlackBoard courses shells annually

2. Orient students and faculty to the requirements of clinical education and training

3. Evaluate clinical practice opportunities for COFT students with the aim of offering a diverse mix of settings and populations. Identify new clinical sites as needed

4. Serve as a liaison between the COFT programs, and clinical education sites

5. Identify and match qualified and approved supervisors with all COFT students in clinical practice; ensure that all students are successfully practicing in an approved setting.

6. Track student progress in accruing needed clinical service and supervision hours as required by accreditors

7. Ensure quality learning experiences for students during clinical practicum and internship

8. Make certain that clinical practicum sites demonstrate acceptable standards of practice

9. Ensure that all COFT clinical training aligns with the department's outcome based curricula

10. Develop, monitor, and refine assessment tools that capture cycle of assessment data

11. Develop and present periodic reports of assessment data

12. Develop strategies to involve faculty participation in clinical education, planning, implementation, and assessment

13. Develop and teach selected courses and trainings related to clinical supervision; facilitate and provide continuing education about current practice trends and policies .
