  • Position Summary
    • Under the direction of the Vice President of Outpatient Services, the Clinical Director is responsible for the performance and daily operations of identified service delivery site(s) and for broad oversight of designated program area(s). He/She provides and maintains a consistent leadership style that supports the Mission and Values of Maine Behavioral Healthcare.
      The Clinical Director participates in the implementation of overall strategic goals and actively assumes responsibility for implementing policies and standard operation procedures. He/She ensures the organization has an effective and consistent communication system across regions that promote the organizational network. The Clinical Directo will partner with the Medical Director to provide oversight of the following Ambulatory Services: Outpatient Therapy, Substance Use Treatment (matrix reporting solid), Intensive Outpatient Program (matrix reporting solid), and Case Management (matrix reporting dotted).
      The Clinical Director will work to ensure the Outpatient Program Care Model is implemented as designed, will work with the Medical Director in working with local primary care practices and Hospital referring providers to ensure that the needs of the community are being met. The Clinical Director will provide clinical supervision to all clinicians in the office and ensure the clinical outcomes of the region. He/She works with local managers from all programs delivering services in the assigned site(s) to ensure client care met MBH standards. The Clinical Director works collaborativelywithotherdirectors and addresses organizational barriers to achieve MBH mission and vision. This individual proactively participates in program development for designated program areas including grant opportunities.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field is required
    • Independently licensed to practice in Maine and provide supervision to all staff within area of responsibility, including conditionally licensed staff
    • Evidence of leadership qualities and strong interpersonal and organizational skills are required
    • 5+ years of progressive mental health care management and broad based clinical experience is required
    • Demonstrate sensitivity to cultural variables and respect for diversity
    • Able to conceptualize the big picture and plan strategically
    • Able to manage day to day operations in collaboration with practice manager and Medical Director to ensure excellent client care
    • Able to represent MBH in the larger MH system and in the community
    • Thorough knowledge of program and organization requirements
