The Director of Clinical Education will serve in dual capacity of principal faculty and clinical educator and collaborate with all members of program faculty and staff. Responsibilities will include student education and assessment, recruitment and retention of preceptors, course and curriculum sequencing to align with ARC-PA standards, as well as providing general leadership and oversight of the clinical year. This includes clinical rotation scheduling and coordination, as well as data collection to contribute to the self-study element of accreditation maintenance for the program. The clinical educator must keep track of the discipline, the setting, and specific clinical encounters needed to schedule a student in the clinical year. The clinical educator should be a physician assistant, as they is responsible for teaching, mentoring, and advising students, staying abreast of issues affecting the profession, credential and CME maintenance, scholarly activity, and service at various levels of the institution and program. This individual will also develop, coordinate and teach courses in both academic and clinical year and participate in all aspects of the program. The clinical educator is a principal faculty member reporting to the Director of the PA program.
