Summary

The Director of Client Engagement leads the client facing functions of Adworkshop, both New Business Development and Client Services teams as well as leadership of 2 critical cross-functional teams: Agency Marketing and the Strategic Accounts Teams. This leadership is balanced with direct ownership of key Strategic Accounts and direct contact with clients managed by the team, to ensure their successes. The Director of Client Engagement is expected to set the vision and outline the business processes and expectations critical to the development of the Director of New Business Development and the Director of Client Services, their respective teams and ultimate success in the eyes of Adworkshop and clients.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Ensure Adworkshop prospect and client relationships are both exceedingly positive and stable. In the event a risk is identified the communication or escalation of that risk and its mitigation plan must be clear and prompt
  • Lead Adworkshop in the further development and practice of strategic market analysis & company positioning, brand identity, competitive analysis, new product/service identification through launch
  • Lead Adworkshop in the further development and practice of strategic advertisement, marketing communications, product line forecasts and associated pricing, promotional marketing and interactive/new media promotional approaches
  • Lead the creation and personally create excitement in the minds of Adworkshop prospects & clients with exceptional marketing plans and innovative presentation
  • Understand the market space and respective client(s) and lead the alignment of Adworkshop’s comprehensive marketing solutions, and future solutions, aligned with client needs
  • Lead Adworkshop individually, and coach the Director of New Business Development and the Director of Client Services to lead Adworkshop across the entire Inquiry to Order (ITO) lifecycle and seamless transition into project delivery
  • Understand gaps and lead Adworkshop into improved business systems to ensure Adworkshop budgets, quality and delivery expectations are tracked, reported and met by both the New Business Development and the Client Services Team
  • Continually developing the Client Engagement Teams, and the working relationship with and between team members in pursuit of Adworkshop vision, brand standards & business goals
  • Continuous improvement of business systems and processes within the Client Services Team and between Client Services and Adworkshop in total (peer and leadership)
  • Participate on the Adworkshop Extended Leadership Team (ELT) both individually and as an ELT, supporting the President to lead, direct, coordinate & communicate the operation and ultimate performance of Adworkshop
  • Lead the Adworkshop Agency Marketing Team (AMT) to deploy resources in support of developing, launching and operating an integrated Adworkshop Marketing & Business Development Strategy
  • Lead the Adworkshop Strategic Accounts Team (SAT) deploying both process and resources in support of the successful sale (ITO), delivery (OTR) and sustaining business activities with the most influential accounts in the client portfolio

 Qualification

  • Advanced degree in business (MBA, Masters Finance or equivalent) or exceptional, similar business experience
  • Proven ability to identify, develop strategy, nurture and close new business deals with winning contribution margin
  • Demonstrated success rapidly building and maintaining relationships and effectively leading both functionally and cross-functionally within an organization
  • Success in senior-level (strategy & tactics) leadership in both a marketing agency and an in-house Business Development or Sales function
  • Demonstrated superior leadership of client facing teams (preferably Business Development)
  • Past success establishing the direction, winning support and leading (both business & culture) functional and cross-functional client facing teams through change
  • Demonstrated understanding of contemporary and emerging trends in marketing and the comfort deploying entrepreneurial strategy to win
  • A history of excellence in communication (verbal and written), active listening, overcoming objections, risk mitigation & problem solving
  • A track record of leadership success in dynamic environments.
