KAGR (Kraft Analytics Group) is seeking a smart, energetic, and highly motivated Director of Business Development with a passion for developing long-term client relationships and closing sales in the technology space. Responsible for the development of KAGR's go to market strategy, identifying priority accounts and developing unique sales strategies, the Director of Business Development will research prospective accounts, pursue leads and follow through to a successful agreement. Executive presence, vision and effectiveness in a complex team-oriented environment are critical to be successful in this role.

 

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

New Business Development & Client Retention

  • Establish and build KAGR's Business Development and Sales efforts to ensure company meets, and ideally exceeds, client and revenue goals set by senior management
  • Develop relationships with prospective clients in the sports and entertainment industry
  • Possess a strong understanding of our products, our competition in the industry and positioning
  • Research and build relationships with new clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging your network
  • Create business proposals, handle initial negotiations, and close business deals as part of a team
  • Research and analyze client business; present strategic creative solutions to negotiation and close the sale
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams pre & post sale to ensure all activations are executable and that they deliver as promised post sale
  • Set up meetings between client decision makers and company's practice leaders/Principals.
  • Work with team to develop proposals that speaks to the client's needs, concerns, and objectives
  • Communicate status of sales initiatives executive leadership team
  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly sales reports

 

Business Development Planning

  • Provide market feedback to company leadership regarding competitive offerings, prospect needs and generate product development ideas.
  • Take ownership of the management of the sales and marketing functions of the business.
  • Responsible for the overall management of all strategic and operational Marketing and Customer Relationship activities.
  • Plan and coordinate the implementation of business plans and the penetration of new markets.
  • Excellent negotiation skills, proven track record of successfully pitching for new business
  • Develop sales strategies and unique selling propositions to meet sales targets.
  • Collaborate with Consulting, Analytics and Engineering to identify new product opportunities.
  • As appropriate, represent KAGR at industry trade associations, conventions and meetings.

Management and Research

  • Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet these targets
  • Ensure that data is accurately entered and managed within CRM system
  • Forecast sales targets and ensure they are met
  • Present business development training and mentoring to business developers and other internal staff.

Product Marketing

  • Understand competitive advantage of products and help define positioning within the marketplace
  • Define creative sales opportunities (e.g. hosting events, meetups, etc)
  • Work with Operations and Creative team on marketing and sales materials

Requirements

  • 10+ years of technology business development and sales management experience with a proven track record of increasing revenue through generation of leads
  • Superior negotiation skills and proven track record of successfully pitching for new business
  • BA/BS degree required. Master's degree in Business or related field preferred
  • Desire to work in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Experience in working with senior management to align sales strategies and solutions
  • Aptitude for understanding and communicating how technology products and solutions solve business problems
  • Demonstrated track record of identifying and executing successful partnerships and large scale deals, particularly in the sports and entertainment industry
  • Ability to structure effective sales strategies and negotiate complex, high-profile agreements
  • Experience in working with senior management to align sales strategies and solutions
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to synthesize information and customer needs so that it can be translated back to the delivery team
  • Experience managing partnerships across multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to travel ~ 40%
