Aspen Products, Inc. is a manufacturer of disposable paper plates, cups, bowls and lunch bags established in 1977 and based in Kansas City, MO. With an emphasis on creativity and program development for our customers, Aspen has grown to one of the largest providers of private label tabletop products in North America.

Aspen Products, Inc. is looking for the right individual to join our team as Director of Business Development based at our Kansas City corporate office. This position will be responsible for generating revenue and achieving objectives for national accounts and other region retail sales responsibility within a private brand CPG environment. In addition to daily business management this individual will partner with the VP of Sales as well as operations, to set and execute strategic direction of the region and national accounts to ensure sales growth and expansion. This individual is responsible for selection, coaching, performance management and annual performance reviews for all independent brokers related to the assigned business.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage sales and business activities related to key accounts including Walmart, Sam's Club, Walgreens.
  • Coach, develop and motivate broker networkassociated with market responsibility.
  • Assist in the development and execution of strategic sales plans and campaigns for growing retail business while executing revenue, margin and profit goals.
  • Develop and manage retail sales budget and sales goals, track and make necessary adjustments to key performance indicators.
  • Collaborate with a variety of cross functional areas to drive sales through development and execution of:
  • Sound planning initiatives and strong strategy for new product opportunities, input on promotional tools to support key products, review of products for rationalization/discontinuation.
  • Effective sales plans and target marketing campaigns for new and existing products/customers.
  • Competitive pricing policies and price negotiation.
  • Annual forecasting with ongoing review.
  • Attend domestic trade-shows/industry events, as well as Company sales functions, and participate in special projects and perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years' proven success in sales and sales management managing complex multi-functional processes with the company and the customer. Experience working with Walmart preferable. Bachelor's Degree in business, marketing or related field required.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Track record of motivating sales teams to consistently perform at a high level. Excellent customer relationship skills, attentive listener, proven ability to create and deliver compelling presentations. Possesses strong negotiation, analytic, written and verbal communication skills, and proven effectiveness with dispute resolution. Strong organizational and time management skills. PC skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
