Job Description

Shriners Hospitals for Children® - Greenville, SC is looking for a Director of Business Development. This position effectively manages hospital key business development functions through the use of quantitative and qualitative data systems and sources to evaluate, expand and align services. These functions include but are not limited to business plan development, business plan implementation, physician referral development, strategic planning, reporting of critical value statistics as well as coordination of activities with Corporate Planning & Business Development. The director will research, analyze through various methods, and compile reports, presentations and summaries of valid and reliable findings for hospital management, hospital governing boards, and other key stakeholders for Shriners Hospitals for Children. The primary focus of this position will be the internal/external evaluation and strategic enhancement of the mission of the organization.

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • At least 7 years of progressive healthcare experience
  • Valid SC driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Expert knowledge of healthcare environments and healthcare delivery systems
  • Expert knowledge in method and theory related to decision support for the healthcare environment
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently operate in a complex matrix relationship environment
  • Good facilitation skills and understanding of small group dynamics
  • Strong oral, written, presentation and communication skills
  • Excellent business plan writing skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Expert PC applications skills including Microsoft Office suite required
  • Proven expertise in multitasking and project prioritization


  • Masters degree in business
  • Experience working in a multi-hospital health system setting
