Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance, business administration, or other related field and a minimum of five years' of experience in budget, accounting, and/or finance   Departmental Requirements - Knowledge, Abilities, Skills   Excellent verbal/written communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PeopleSoft, and related financial and statistical software Knowledge of financial and/or cost accounting principles, practices, and procedures; governmental budgeting, financial, and manpower reports; principles/techniques used in conducting management studies, system and financial analyses Ability to perform complex numerical calculations and management reports; budget preparation and forecasting Effective mathematical, organizational, and analytical skills Ability to work independently; meet deadlines; maintain confidentiality  
Preferred
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance, business administration, or other related field and seven years' of experience in budget, accounting and/or finance Knowledge and experience in PeopleSoft HRMS, fund accounting, and higher education cost analysis  
Responsibilities
The Director of Budget Operations provides consultation and assistance including analytical and financial planning support to all units of the University and works closely with the Senior Leadership, Vice Presidents, Hospital Finance (in relation to shared services), Deans and Directors in analyzing budgets and identifying cost factors and funding opportunities for the University.  The Office of Budget Services plays a vital role in monitoring and reporting budget/financial information to Senior Leadership.  The duties include, but are not limited to:  supervise, monitor, or coordinate activities of budget team; coordinate office work flow and project activities; review detailed cost and financial analyses; solve complex technical and managerial problems; provide advisory services to administrators, faculty, and staff throughout the University; prepare original budget for submission; audit annual and amended operating budgets; and other duties as assigned.
