We are currently seeking a Director of Benefits who will oversee the design, development, and maintenance of Orlando Health’s health and welfare benefits plans, programs, and procedures.
This Director will provide strategic and operational leadership to the areas of Benefits Administration, Leave of Absence, Team Member Wellness, and Occupational Health.
Master’s degree in Business (MBA), Healthcare Management (MHA), or other related field required.
SPHR, SHRM-SCP, CEBS, CBP or equivalent professional certification preferred.
Seven (7) years’ comprehensive experience in all aspects of benefit plan design, administration and leadership, with a strong working knowledge of overall Human Resource practices and operating systems required.
3 years in a leadership position directing benefits programs required.
Experience within healthcare industry and with self-funded insurance plans strongly preferred.
Plans, evaluates, develops, and administers various team member benefit programs including, but not limited to, health and welfare benefit plans including life, disability, dental, vision, retirement savings plan, PTO, Workers Compensation/Alternate Duty, EAP and other related plans and programs.
Makes recommendations on plan design and implementation strategies that are innovative and cost effective benefit solutions, and distinguish Orlando Health as a best place to work. As needed, directs Request for Proposal initiatives, including the evaluation, service and cost negotiation and selection process in conjunction with external consultants.
Participate in contract negotiations to secure best in class benefits programs; manage relationship with external Benefit Consultative Brokers and benefit plan vendors, and conduct ongoing review of industry trends and changes in legislation
Prepares and maintains benefits communication materials and the development of a robust communications strategy inclusive of all team members that demonstrates the value of our health and welfare programs.
Directs the ongoing operations of the HR health and wellness departments, and ensures department operations are efficient, customer focused, and readily available to meet the needs of a 24-7 organization.
Develops and manages the budget for benefits, wellness and occupational health with responsibility for fiscal performance of assigned areas.
Supports ongoing Orlando Health growth, including merger and acquisition, by creating an innovative and inclusive integration strategy, including due diligence, risk assessment, regulatory compliance and cultural sensitivity.
Ensure company compliance with provisions of ERISA, ACA, FMLA, ADAAA, and other legislative requirements; coordinate preparation of regulatory filings with federal and state agencies, including IRS, DOL, and other regulatory agencies.
Partners with HRIS team to ensure benefits administration systems and technology advancements are updated as needed
Participates in surveys, analyzes of benchmark data and maintains an organized body of benchmark materials and information on benefit programs.
Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Facilitates and makes recommendations to various committees related to our team member benefits programs.
