The Director of Behavioral Health will manage employees, establishes performancegoals, allocates resources and assesses policies for the Department, Coordinates with the medical staff and otherhospital personnel to respond to the facilityand communityâ€™s needs for quality mental health care services, Serves as liaison andchannel of communication between the Department, Administration and any of itscommittees and medical staff. Assists with organizational and administrativeproblems and responsibilities. Also, where appropriate, perform population(s) servedassessment demonstrating knowledge of growth and development for each agegroup. Demonstrates knowledge of population(s) served assessment, recognizingpsychological levels and development patterns. Provides for age appropriate stimulation and learning needs. Demonstrates ability to interpretpopulation(s) served data.
Functions under the direction of the Facility CNO.
Masters Degree inhealthcare management preferred, business or related subject matter. Clear/active LMHC or LCSW preferred or RN License preferred.
At least 5-7 years demonstrated clinicalproficiency, preferably in mental health, at least 5-7 years in hospital administration, and at least threeyearsâ€™ of demonstrated leadership and management experience.
- Ability to lead and motivate people to achieve growth and quality targets.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of Federal and State laws, guidelines pertaining to The Joint Commission, Medicare and Medicaid, and other insurance and payer sources.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Willingness to be flexible to new and changing situations.
