Position Overview

Verra Mobility is hiring a Director of Accounting. The Director of Accounting is responsible for oversight of accounts payable, payroll and invoicing, including various month-end close responsibilities; establishment of policies and procedures; development of and compliance with internal controls including oversight of Sarbanes-Oxley for areas of responsibility; financial statement review and analysis; and management of other key projects and initiatives, including acquisition due diligence and integration, as necessary.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of accounting and processing for Accounts Payable, Invoicing and Payroll.
  • Develop and manage accounting policies, procedures and internal controls.
  • Ensures the company financial records, under responsibility, are compliant with company policies and US GAAP.
  • Evaluate and benchmark existing processes against best practices and develop and execute strategies to drive cost, control and efficiency improvements.
  • Manage external audit process for your areas of responsibility including 401(k) and compliance audits.
  • Standardize and integrate certain functions and processes of newly acquired companies into corporate structure.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with CPA
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, including management and development of staff
  • Broad systems exposure including experience with a variety of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), payroll, HR and billing applications
  • Experience managing projects including ERP evaluation and implementation
  • Outstanding communicator with a leadership mentality
  • Demonstrated ability to form, lead and develop high-performing teams
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions
  • Strong focus on process and operational improvements
  • Ability to hire and develop high performance teams
  • Extensive knowledge of US GAAP
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to effectively manage multiple projects with competing deadlines. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction
  • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation, including verification of past employment, criminal history, educational background or credit history
  • Must be willing to take a pre-employment drug test
