The Director PT/OT/SLP is responsible for the overall operation of the Therapy Services Department (Acute and Inpatient Rehab PT, OT, SLP, Outpatient SLP), Cardiac Rehab (RN, Exercise Physiologist), Inpatient/Outpatient Diabetes Education (Registered Dietician & RN), and Outpatient Oncology Therapy Services). They will be responsible to ensure the quality of physical, occupational, and speech therapy provided. He/She will serve as a clinical resource for staff and will perform and oversee therapeutic and rehabilitative patient care of patient populations served by the facility. The Director PT/OT/SLP coordinates functions with physicians and other departments of the hospital in a spirit that fosters positive working relationships. The Director PT/OT/SLP assists the CNO with management and program development of the Therapy Services Department.

Populations Served: Cardiac/cardiovascular, neuro, rehab, orthopedic, spine care, pulmonary including but not limited to: CVA/TIA, joint replacement/fracture repair, etc.

EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:

  • 4 year/Bachelor Degree (Post Graduate Degree preferred)
  • Licensed in the state of Alaska to practice as a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech Therapist (Current certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA)
  • BLS certification required

EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:

  • 3-5 years of acute/rehab experience
  • At least 1 year supervisory/leadership experience
  • Knowledge of State of Alaska law, Federal/CMS regulations and Joint Commission standards
  • Knowledge of specialty equipment and tools: NMES, TENS, Hot packs, Cold packs, orthopedic bracing, standing frame, tilt table, wheelchair, use of adaptive equipment, parallel bars, high/low mats, etc.
