The Director of Occupational Health will provide administrative direction and leadership for the Occupational Health Department including the Workers’ Compensation PPO. This direction will include development and enforcement of policies, procedures, and programs in all office locations (ie, including but not limited to: Occupational Medicine on the BGH campus, UHS Occupational Medicine clinic in Norwich, UHS Business Direct, and the Raymond Corporation satellite office). The Director of Occupational Health will oversee the performance and quality of Employee Health functions as well as ensure adherence to regulatory compliance, outcome measures and customer satisfaction. This position ensures operational preparedness for program expansion while working alongside related departments/divisions at UHS. This position will provide leadership related to strategic planning and marketing decisions related to the UHS Business Direct product lines. This role will work as an ambassador for UHS through interactions with local and regional community agencies, employers, associations, organizations, and decision-makers from business, government, and educational facilities.
Bachelor’s Degree in management, health administration, or other related field and at least five years of proven management in a health care setting, including financial management required. Master’s Degree in Health Administration or Business Management and least three years of OSHA, NYS Worker’s Compensation Law, NYSDOH regulations related to Occupational Health preferred.
NYS Registered Nurse license, Credentialed Certified Case manager (CCM), or Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) preferred.
