Director, North Demand Planning Smashbox and Glamglow
This position is responsible for managing demand signals to effectively drive supply chain activities while supporting strategic and financial planning within the broader Demand Consensus and Sales, Inventory & Operations process. This position is responsible for creating SAP shipment and sell thru demand plans for basic salable codes, new launches and promotional goods for assigned brands and supports the Demand Planning Cluster Lead in demand planning and business needs, including root cause analyses, reporting, launch forecast preparation / reporting and demand assumption tracking.
Maintain salable product launch assumptions from forecast inception through launch by supporting Marketing and brand stakeholders including Sales, Finance and Supply with documented assumptions, timely adjustments and ongoing performance feedback.
Communicate and coordinate launch planning implications and updates across all channels / markets as changes in assumptions arise (e.g., benchmarks, ship dates, investment strategies, etc.).
Regularly review recent and future launch forecasts to confirm demand requirements are well maintained; adjust launch and/or ongoing products to best align with trend and sales and shipping targets to maximize sales while minimizing returns and inventoryrisks.
Analytics & Reporting:
Prepare and present root cause analyses of forecast accuracy KPIs (key performance metrics) including WFA, attainment & bias; course correct and communicate adjustments as needed.
Prepare, analyze and issue salesreports, launch performance recaps, mix of business reports, etc.
Support the creation of the monthly Demand Review and Consensus decks, including reporting leveraged for ongoing demand and supply collaborations.
Support regional and/or corporate standardization efforts and systems upgrades/enhancements.
Base Business Planning:
Review statistical model output for base codes, including level, trend and seasonality at the category, family and where appropriate, shaded level.
Adjust demand plans using vetted market intelligence and recommend further adjustments where appropriate to better align with trend and/or business objectives.
Support monthly forecast reconciliation efforts for salable and promotional goods, ensuring the demand plan is closely aligned with brand financial commitments or variances are understood.
Analyze launch influences on existing products, and overall category results, communicating unusual results to key stakeholders. Highlight risks and opportunities when the brands’ sales and/or shipping goals are misaligned with demand plans.
Communicate material demand changes / results to supply, regional and global stakeholders timely.
8year’s experience within Demand Planning, Sales Planning, Merchandise Financial Planning or Buying; Supply Chain, Cosmetic or Consumer Packaged Goods industry a plus
Strong communication and people skills required with the ability to work proactively and independently
Strong Excel and analytical skills required with SAP Advanced Planning Optimizer (APO) experience a plus
