We are seeking an innovative and strategic Director of Messaging & Specialty to lead our messaging and specialty marketing initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive strategies that effectively communicate our brand message, engage target audiences, and drive growth through specialized marketing channels.

Un-carrier® Responsibilities
  • Messaging Strategy Development: Develop and communicate a compelling messaging strategy that aligns with our brand identity, values, and business objectives. Define the tone, voice, and narrative that resonate with our target audiences across various platforms. Lead development and deployment of the assortment management strategy, including the development of a rigorous analytical framework for evaluating and measuring assortment decisions.
  • Specialty Marketing Initiatives: Lead the ideation, design, and execution of specialized marketing campaigns that cater to specific customer segments, ensuring tailored messaging and engaging content. Determine analytical tools, systems and processes needed that will enhance our inventory capabilities and efficiencies across the supply chain.
  • Content Creation and Curation: Oversee the development and curation of high-quality and engaging content, including written, visual, and multimedia assets, that effectively convey our brand message and support specialty campaigns.
  • Audience Segmentation: Utilize market research, data analytics, and customer insights to identify and segment target audiences for specialized messaging, ensuring personalized and relevant communication. Directly manage a team of planning managers and owns a D&P governance process for assortment decisions.
  • Channel Optimization: Determine the most effective marketing channels and platforms for reaching specific audiences, tailoring messaging and content for maximum impact and engagement.
  • Brand Consistency: Ensure consistency and alignment of messaging across all marketing touchpoints, maintaining a unified brand voice and image in specialty campaigns.
  • Performance Metrics and Analysis: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of messaging and specialty marketing initiatives. Analyze data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and make data-driven decisions.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor a team of marketing professionals, fostering a collaborative and creative environment. Provide guidance and support to ensure the team's success in executing marketing strategies.
  • Communication and Reporting: Communicate messaging and specialty marketing updates, progress, and results to senior leadership and relevant stakeholders through clear and concise reports and presentations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, communications, product, and sales, to ensure the seamless implementation of messaging and specialty marketing strategies.

The Experience You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Proven experience (10+ years) in messaging strategy development, specialty marketing, or related roles.
  • 5+ years strategic thinking and creative problem-solving experience, with a deep understanding of brand messaging and audience segmentation.
  • 5+ years comprehensive understanding and experience in customer service dynamics, operational processes, and industry best practices.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor's Degree; Masters Preferred.
