The Director of Media Relations provides strategic direction and leadership to tell
Crozer-Keystone Health System's story through various media outlets in order to
educate the public and build the health system's reputation.


    • Develop and actualize media relations strategy
      that is consistent with the organization's mission, vision and goals and
      enhances the system's status in regards to the media and the community
    • Oversee day-to-day media relations operations
      and serve as spokesperson on behalf of Crozer-Keystone Health System
    • Oversee 24-hour on-call coverage for media
    • Write, edit and distribute releases, statements,
      talking points, media advisories and other related materials
    • Prepare and deliver pitches to the media and
      successfully place stories
    • Respond to inquiries from the media in a timely
    • Work closely with senior management at the
      corporate level to ensure accuracy and consistency of statements to the media
    • Make appropriate arrangements for interviews and
      provide media training for physicians and leadership
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with
      members of local and national media
    • Position CKHS as an industry thought leader through
      placements in industry and medical publications
    • Manage crisis communications planning/response
      and act as first point of contact for crises, issues or other non-routine
      after-hours needs
    • Monitor and analyze media trends and coverage of
      system related news and take action as needed to ensure appropriate messages
      are being relayed through the media
    • Report on media coverage to senior leadership
    • Support speech writing for senior management and




    • 10+ years' news media, media relations and
      crisis communication experience
    • News media or media relations experience
    • Demonstrated competence in written, oral and
      electronic communication skills
    • Proficient with AP writing style
    • Experience with media monitoring platforms
    •  Relationships with local media contacts
    •  Healthcare experience preferred
    • Bachelor's degree in Communication, Public
      Relations, Marketing, Journalism or related field; Master's preferred.
