Position Overview

This position will serve as the company expert in consumer and market insights and will be responsible for driving research strategies and analysis to help create practical, impactful marketing initiatives throughout the company. The person is responsible for providing leadership and strategy for the Marketing Department’s Consumer & Market Insights teams. This includes supporting the entire marketing organization with data driven learning about the Consumer (Shopper), Customers (Tenants) and potential future targets. This ranges from foundational understanding of current behavior and or future influences to optimize marketing, operations, and curation of the company's centers.


  • Lead and manage a team of high performing insights professionals, including two traditional insights positions and one focused on the future state of consumer insights
  • Develop a thorough, fact-based understanding of shopping center, retailer, consumer, and tenant trends and behaviors to identify robust business opportunities to drive B2C and B2B marketing strategy
  • Leverage qualitative and quantitative research techniques to understand user’s needs and desiredexperiences
  • Gather and leverage insights, analytics, and research to deliver improved consumer experiences (in mall, desktop, mobile and app), encourage repeat visits, and enhance portfolio productivity overall
  • Partner with Strategy & Analytics team to develop and communicate quantitative data driven learning about consumers that visit the centers, are residents of the Trade Area, and/or are potential tourists to the area
  • Impact business action by developing powerful and effective communication strategies for sharing data driven insights and recommendations to key stakeholders including IT, Strategy & Analytics, Leasing, Asset Management and Corporate Marketing
  • Establish a cutting-edge methodology for evaluating, aggregating latest industry trends to enforce insight and user experience best practices consistently across platforms
  • Manage marketing budget efficiently to ensure resources are fully utilized in the best manner
  • Recruit, develop and manage a high-performance team
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s preferred
  • 5+ years supervisory experience
  • 7-10 years in relevant marketing and business analysis roles
  • Established track record and experience managing market research initiatives through concept to successful completion
  • Expertise with current research, theories, best practices and testing methodologies.
  • Experience successfully managing several complex processes and projects involving internal clients, external vendors and high-level business issues simultaneously
  • Building and managing a high-performing insights team by promoting accountability and efficiency
