Summary: The Director of Marketing works under the direction of the VP for Strategic Planning and Marketing to plan, manage, implement and measure consumer engagement and marketing strategies, advertising, and other promotions for hospitals and practices affiliated with Community Health Systems. The Director of Marketing will collaborate with the CHS marketing team, hospital marketing personnel, and marketing partners and vendors to develop and execute digital-first, multi-channel campaigns designed to achieve hospital and clinic growth goals and to support patients in their healthcare experiences. This position works to ensure marketing initiatives are actionable and consistent with CHS objectives.Essential duties and responsibilities â€¢Collaborates with VP of Strategic Planning and Marketing, corporate personnel, hospital personnel, andmarketing vendors to identify and recommended consumer engagement andmarketing strategies.â€¢Gathers, analyzes and evaluates research, competitors and industry trends to develop strategicmarketing plans that drive growth.â€¢Supports the implementation and integration ofdigital-firstmarketing, lead generation and nurturing tactics, complemented by traditional advertising, to produce actionablecampaigns.â€¢Utilizes customer relationship management andmarketing automationtechnologies to support measurablemarketing initiatives.â€¢Applies knowledge andexperience to direct agencies andinternal teams to produce strong, relevant and actionable content and creative.â€¢Collaborates with VP of Strategic Planning and Marketing, as well as Division leadership, vendors and hospitals to recommend and managemarketingbudgets and works closely with hospital representatives andmarketing vendors to establish and execute annualmarketing plans.â€¢Works closely with vendors and/or the CHS creative and web services team to complete relatedmarketing projects, measure and analyzecampaign results by adopting a â€�test and learnâ€ approach that maximizes results (KPIs and ROI) and establishes best practices.â€¢Collaborates withinternal teams to oversee strategy anddesign of creativetemplates (i.e.landing pages, trigger and nurturing emails, etc.) that generate leads and optimize customerexperience.â€¢Supports/creates and delivers relevantreporting, analyzing key metrics that provide insight into the overall success ofmarketing efforts as well as opportunities for improvement.â€¢Manages established timelines to ensure projects progress in a timely manner.â€¢Shares and leverages best practices formarketing content across all owned, paid and earned media and creates toolkits to enable standardized and scalablemarketing initiatives.â€¢Mentors hospitalmarketing contacts; supports development and presentation of educational webinars.â€¢Stays abreast of emergingtechnologies that may offer new and creative growth strategies.â€¢Serves as team lead for certain assigned projects, which could include intranet maintenance, legal/compliancemarketing liaison, specific vendor management, hospitalmarketing education, etc.â€¢Limitedtravel may berequired.
Qualifications:This position requires progressive healthcare marketing experience, including experience with digital channels and measuring campaign effectiveness. Excellent interpersonal skills, leadership experience, written and verbal communication skills and critical thinking are essential in this position. Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint and Word are expected. Understanding of digital channels, traditional advertising channels and marketing technologies, such as CRM and marketing automation, are required. Professional writing skills are highly desired. Outstanding organizational skills are necessary to support multiple and various projects. Finally, this position requires the ability to collaborate and communicate with a multitude of key stakeholders, both internal and external.

Education/Experience:Bachelorâ€™s or masterâ€™s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field. Minimum 10 years of marketing experience, including experience in healthcare marketing required with marketing leadership experience strongly preferred. Strong analytical skills that demonstrate an ability to identify and act on insights that drive business results required.
