The Role

Serving as an innovative and transformational leader, this role will manage the strategic marketing planning, research and guide a team in excellent tactical execution for the JLL portfolio of businesses while identifying stronger points of integration between and across service lines and geographies. The successful candidate will lead, mentor and coach a team of Florida-based marketers, researchers and sales support professionals to drive innovation and differentiation at the point of sale, increase client retention, build a strong brand and corporate reputation and improve JLL's competitive advantage in the marketplace.

In addition to leading Florida marketing team, the successful candidate will have direct oversight for the marketing and research team members located in JLL's Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville, Miami, Ft. Lauderdale and West Palm Beach offices, and will act as a strategic partner to the local business leaders in all area offices - developing and executing marketing plans to help business lines achieve revenue goals, including, but not limited to Tenant Representation, Agency Leasing, Industrial, Capital Markets, Retail, Property Management and Project and Development Services.

The role requires a heavy focus on operational excellence, leadership and business acumen.

The successful candidate must be a strong leader and have a foundation in operational excellence. This role oversees a team of about 15 marketers and researchers.

Key responsibilities include:

Research - Develop implement and manage the overall strategic research plan for the designated markets in alignment with the local Market Directors and Americas Research.

  • Guide researchers through all local real estate information (office, industrial, residential and retail), economic and demographic market research and GIS and Analytics program and output.
  • Maintain intimate and extensive knowledge of the macro and micro factors affecting the marketplace and proactively position research to leverage this knowledge for the business and for clients.
  • Represent the voice of JLL Research expertise at the point of sale through the delivery and presentation of research to differentiate JLL for clients and prospects.
  • Engage clients regularly by presenting analysis and findings on market trends as a JLL expert in the marketplace at conferences, in the media
  • Work in conjunction with business leaders, marketing and communications to develop and implement a plan and timeline for local research content and thought leadership development.
  • Manage local research team including hiring, goal setting, performance management, and training.
  • Manage and implement processes including the adoption of new technologies/databases as directed by Americas Research.
  • Hold team to high standards of data excellence and cultivate a culture of collaboration between business lines and Research.

Business Development - Manage the RFP and new business pitch/presentation process, including setting, enforcing, and maintaining a timeline for successful completion

  • Lead kick-off sessions with key stakeholders to clarify positioning, messaging, approach and go-to-market strategy.
  • Interview and gather information from business line leaders and/or subject matter experts to customize RFP responses and pitch/presentation content.
  • Assist in writing content and coordinate design resources to design, layout and enhance graphics elements for all proposals and pitches/presentations.
  • Provide quality control review and editing on all proposals and pitches/presentations.
  • Oversee final production and delivery of proposals and pitches/presentations.
  • Attend pitches providing nuanced market strategies that guide prospects across our tenant and investor business.
  • Engage the brokers for a post-meeting review to guide and to maximize the most effective outputs.
  • Collaborate with design, research and GIS, accounting and administrative team to produce targeted business unit brand materials, focusing on analytics, copy writing, editing and design.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to working with the sales professionals to develop and present new ideas for business development-focused initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain proposal and pitch/presentation library, including but not limited to baseline language, business analytics, case studies, resumes and bios.

Marketing Strategy and Execution - Develop and execute a marketing strategy that differentiates the business locally and supports the growth of each local business line. Ensure that appropriate input is secured from representatives of key groups within the business.

  • Develop and execute a marketing and communication strategy in support of business goals.
  • Lead the annual marketing planning process.
  • Create process to find points of integration and alignment by driving collaboration on tools such as editorial, event, campaign and content calendars; yearly marketing plans; budget system practices; metric reporting and analysis; integration of national marketing efforts and implementation of best practices.
  • Design and implement marketing programs that drive sales and include messaging, competitive analysis, content marketing, digital and demand generation campaigns, events, sponsorships, direct marketing and account-based marketing.
  • Acts as champion of broad campaigns crossing multiple business lines to ensure optimal impact of JLL marketing efforts.

Leadership & People Management - Lead a Florida Research, Sales Enablement and Marketing teams - approximately 15 people - to achieve established objectives. Ensure effective execution against the plan and budget, leading and mentoring staff, emphasize proactive behavior, and build and improve processes. Direct, coach, evaluate and mentor marketing and research personnel to ensure they are meeting and exceeding expectations. Constantly evaluate and modify team structure to ensure optimal support. Comfortable managing a team that is dispersed across a geographic region.

Public relations/media strategy - Develop and execute a proactive public relations plan in coordination with our agency partners. Work to ensure JLL receives effective placement in local and regional press across all business lines. Identify opportunities to expand exposure for key businesses and high-profile professionals with a focus on targeted growth geographies.

Innovation - Develop new and innovative ways to present JLL in the marketplace and differentiate throughout the business development cycle. Leverage team creativity, outside resources and national platform to identify best-in-class, cutting edge marketing tactics and formats that distinguish JLL from our competitors.

  • Maintain knowledge of our competitive and client intelligence to develop an appropriate competitive positioning strategy and drive consistency of messaging in the marketplace.
  • Drive collaboration between Research and PR to deliver strong thought leadership and transform analytical information into client-friendly and consumable content.

Client Engagement - Develop a regional plan for client engagement, to include company hosted prospecting events, client entertainment and research programs. Ensure alignment with strategy, business development and budget adherence.

Property Marketing - Oversee execution of property level marketing campaigns. Participate in new business pitches to differentiate the firm. Seek ways to increase time efficiencies while continuing to delight agency leasing clients.

Project Management - Design and implement a process to ensure appropriate prioritization of all marketing and research projects, production and operation, including assigning appropriate personnel, quality control, and consistent timely delivery.

Measurement - Continually evaluate the effectiveness of all implemented marketing and research programs and adjust and enhance as appropriate.

Relationship Building - Establish strong, trust-based working relationships with all JLL local leaders and national influencers. Collaborate with peers in other markets and national marketing and research colleagues to share best and "next" practices.

  • A minimum of 10 years related experience, with emphasis on experience within the professional services realm. Related industry experience a strong plus.
  • Bachelor's degree/master's degree in business, economics, marketing or related field required, advanced degree preferred
