Job Description:


Direct report to the GM of the Mainframe Division leading all activities of Marketing across the Division with her/his team of direct reports and the entire larger customer facing organization. Directs the development of mainframe marketing programs.

Responsible for assessment of existing and potential markets; involved with: product lifecycle planning, technical product development, and development of product strategies; definition of promotional activities, and product launch.

Activities include technical sales support; product advertising/promotion; planning, developing, and implementing multiple channel programs; and directing the development of company market requirements for specific product(s) or product line(s) as well as sets of customers. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Decisions and input will absolutely impact the strategic direction of the organization. Directs design, development and implementation of organization programs. Develops and directs implementation of the organizational strategic plan in the medium to long term time frame.

Provides the highest level of advice and recommendations as part of the Division's Senior Executive Team.

Has direct control over spend budget with impact on P&L activities. Manages teams situated in several locations globally. Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge. Ensures budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements.

Has overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities, and recommending and implementing changes to methods.
