The Director of Learning Technology directs, coordinates, and executes the activities of a training department in the analysis, development, implementation, and evaluation of training and performance support solutions for H&R Block field and corporate associates. Solutions you will manage are designed to drive business results by increasing the ability of associates to perform essential job functions.

In this role, you’ll partner with key senior business leaders to identify gaps and recommend solutions, while having overall responsibility for the LMS strategy. This includes the implementation, improvement, and maintenance in support of delivery methods that can include, but are not limited to, classroom; online; simulations; and synchronous and asynchronous learning events. Your team’s results drive increased clients, revenue, and earnings as well as client/associateretention, tax professional expertise/certifications, and increased engagement.

What you’ll do…

  • Collaborate within the Learning & Development organization and across business groups to develop, implement, and adapt H&R Block’s learning strategy to support the company’s L&D approach and business objectives
  • Develop and maintain LMS and content management strategy that will allow for easy navigation, findability, accessibility, and will enable effective and efficient content management and curation
  • Consult with L&D, functional groups, and businesses to create blended learning solutions, leveraging mobile and digital content, to enhance learning
  • Stay current on learning innovation and best practices to enhance H&R Block’s learning technology, content, and approaches; be a change agent to communicate and implement new ways of learning
  • Demonstrate an ability to influence without authority to secure buy-in and alignment for learning activities; build strong strategic relationships within L&D, HR more widely, and within functional groups across H&R Block to promote H&R Block’s learning strategy
  • Measure/analyze performance of all learning programs and approaches and act based on analysis, communicating results and action plans
  • Drive multiple project schedules simultaneously and ensure deliverables are met on time
  • Manage external digital on-demand learning contracts for Learning & Development and help assess effectiveness and determine future needs of on-demand learning at H&R Block

What you’ll bring to the role…

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Organizational Development or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Master’s degreepreferred)
  • 10+ years directly or indirectly managing teams with proven ability to lead teams to meeting their objective
  • Extensive background in Learning & Development, learning technology, digital learning, or related discipline
  • Mastery of instructional design methodologies, such as ISD model or the ADDIE model
  • Knowledge and practice of Kirkpatrick’s levels of evaluation
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to effectively manage multiple projects and teams concurrently
  • Proven accomplishment in building relationships with customers and internal clients
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully give and receive feedback at all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to think creatively and effectively troubleshoot/problem solve and effectively communicate and present solutions
