Position Purpose:

The IT Operations Director is responsible for providing strategic vision, thought leadership, and oversight to all internal and external IT systems that support the business. This includes the engineering, building and maintenance of network infrastructure, Windows and Linux based systems, storage systems and telephone systems (internally). This position will define, create, and implement support and communication processes working with operational and engineering experts to develop monitoring, reporting and automation systems. This role influences the business direction in the design and execution of system solutions to support existing and new clients, products and operational complexities.

This role is multi-faceted, requiring a candidate with excellent communication skills, leadership skills, consultative selling ability and excellent defining strategic direction capabilities.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Manage all areas of IT Operations including engineering, building and maintenance of network infrastructure, Windows and Linux based systems, storage systems, for both internal and external client systems. Internally manage telephone systems and provide direct the internal desktop and helpdesk support.

Demonstrate the ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion.

Develop and implement strategy consistent with business unit objectives that also align with departmental objectives.

Work with management at all levels to build relationships and gain commitment and resources from various departments.

Create and administer quality and productivity standards and metrics, ensuring targets are met for all key processes and ensuring the processes are effective and efficient.

Use knowledge of industry and clients to drive cost effective operational environments.

Develops and oversees departmental operating, capital and project budgets and monitors expenses on a monthly basis. Ensures departmental goals and objectives are consistent with the budget

Develops IT business plans and budgets that support both the long-term and short-term objectives of the Company

Acquire and retain top talent for key leadership positions.

Ensure effective succession planning for key positions.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.

Job Related Experience:

10+ years of experience in an information systems environment.

10+ years of experience designing, building and maintaining networks.

10+ years of experience designing, building and maintaining Windows, Linux and storage environments.

10+ years in a managerial position

5+ years in a director position or position that provides strategic direction

5+ years of cloud based infrastructure management

Advanced knowledge of ITIL and IT operational processes.

Advanced understanding of IT operational monitoring and automation systems.
