As the Director, IT & Corporate Procurement, you will be responsible for developing a category management vision, strategies and objectives for the procurement of IT and Corporate spend that deliver against broader business objectives. In this leadership role, the successful candidate will drive consolidation of spend and seek out synergies across business units where applicable, by forming and leading cross-functional teams to develop and implement category/commodity strategies and to drive cost from individual spend sub-categories.
Specifically, you’ll have the opportunity to:
Partnership with internal stakeholders, develop and communicate an IT & Corporate procurement business plan.
Establish, communicate and implement long-term goals for the department in order to promote effectiveness and efficiency and support key business objectives.
Manage recruiting, training and supervising a team of procurement professionals who are responsible for IT and Corporate day-to-day and category management activities.
Accountable to lead the team to develop, implement and execute on robust category strategies for IT and Corporate Category; including but not limited to targets, timelines and resource plans.
End to end information technology portfolio management and economic analysis methods such as cost-benefit analysis or technology life cycle analysis.
Leverage Supplier Market Research analytics team members to build market intelligence capabilities within the category management team on key markets, suppliers and solutions to support strategy development purposes.
Analyze market and delivery trends to aid in the development of procurement technologies and processes that support those trends.
Update procurement strategies based on changing market conditions.
Partner with the IT business unit on developing and deploying a Software Asset Management (SAM) strategy
Meet regularly with respective senior leaders in IT and Corporate roles and serve as their primary contact for IT and Corporate procurement related questions, training, policy and procedure interpretation ensure consistent and high-quality value delivery.
Conduct business review meetings with key stakeholders to assess risk, review future strategies, and identify potential contractual risk mitigation opportunities, including cost reduction and improvement opportunities.
Lead rigorous and enterprise mind-set contract negotiations, collaborating with key internal stakeholders, legal department, risk management and other support groups to ensure risks are appropriately mitigated and the contracts provide appropriate legal protections.
Oversee contract development and administration of documentation for IT and Corporate procurement activity.
Maintain strong working relationships with strategic suppliers to assure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met.
Support and drive expansion of our supplier diversity initiatives; setting clear team member goals and targets
In conjunction with Director, Utility Procurement,
Implement best practices in procurement and supplier management to support commercial and operational objectives.
Develop and implement procurement-related training programs for the procurement organization.
Manage current procurement policies, procedures and programs with a focus on their ability to enhance organizational value and efficiency
Champion corporate supplier diversity goals
Enhance/Strengthen the company internal control environment
Ensure the execution of standards, controls, policies, procedures and performance metrics to effectively and efficiently manage the acquisition and reporting of third-party spend across the company.
Identify areas for improvement to continually drive performance and business results.
Participation and involvement in Utility industry groups such as EEI, AGA and SGA
Develop, communicate and administer IT and Corporate procurement team performance and development plans and appraisals
Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Logistics or related field
10 years of procurement/IT related work experience
5 years of supervisory experience
3 years category management expertise
Expertise in procurement, SRM development and compliance
Strong IT industry experience and category subject matter expertise and the ability to guide others in the application of the procurement process.
Knowledge of industry trends, prominent suppliers, industry procurement strategies and levers, etc.
Experience negotiating complex IT contracts and terms and conditions including but not limited to strategic software, hardware, maintenance, ELA, PULA’s, cyber security, indemnification
