Under the direction of the hospital CFO, this position works closely with the executive leadership team to identify areas of management control and process improvement to be addressed. Responsible for developing and executing the annual plan for routine and ad hoc business process reviews and audits throughout the organization. Areas include but are not limited to Information Technology (IT), Billing, focused arrangements, physician pay, real estate and equipment leases, pay practices, materials management, etc. The director will evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, reports audit findings and makes recommendations for the correction of weaknesses, efficiency/ process improvements, and non-compliance with corporate policies and procedures and improvement of operations. The director will be responsible for following through with departmental leaders on action plans for improvement and correction of findings; developing new process improvements and education of directors and managers on good business practices. This role is also responsible for development and maintenance of contracts and lease arrangements; ensuring accuracy, quality, integrity, and compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
The director will serve as a close liaison to the UMMS internal audit department and the UMMS compliance department to assist and facilitate the execution of internal audit reviews and all audit responses to ensure local responsiveness and compliance with UMMS corporate initiatives. Will also be responsible for liaising with physicians and the UM SJMG in the preparation, negotiation, and execution of new physician contract agreements and amendments. Partners closely with all key stakeholders, including Business Strategy, Clinical Integration, UM SJMG Leadership, Corporate Compliance and Business Ethics Group (CCBEG), the Office of the General Counsel (OGC) , Finance and HR to assure timely completion of new agreements and renewals.
